Couldn't you use something like an insulated water heater wrap? Just remove the old stuff and replace it with something that is not as messy or toxic. I wonder if the insulation used on the Calypso is big enough to fit around the drum?

How does this dryer work?? you mention condenser, but what is the vent outlet at the back??

It looks a beast of a machine, wouldnt fancy luggin that around...

KM COMBO INSULATION

The old insulation is just fiberglass, throw it away and replace. Do-not use anything covered with plastic as the area above the heater box gets pretty hot.

I used to service these units. From the picture it appears that the o ring pump belt is loose. I would suggest replacing it. These units would not pump at all with a loose belt. Kenmoreman

~ ChesterMikeuk: The '61 GE combo is a condensing dryer, this Lady Kenmore is vented. The blower only operates while drying. The lower belt is shifted from one pulley to another, switching from the pump to blower pulley.
