My weekend washer trip turned into a wonderful reunion!

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

The great parking lot switch begins...

Some of the machines were loaded by hand but we used the liftgate on my rig to lift the combo and do a gate to gate transfer. Nice, considering that the combo weighed a ton...

I turn my back and look what you are up to!!

Thanks for sharing your adventure. Sounds like you had a great weekend When I first saw the pic of the washer-dryer I thought someone got crazy with contact paper. I smell a wash-in coming up!

P.S. Thanks for helping me fix the Unimatic the weekend before your trip.

And by the way........

You will notice I'm wearing shorts.    I wear shorts 99% of the time.    However I needed the sweatshirt because it was C O L D!

Monday morning after having breakfast with Gordon, I offered to start and get his rental car warming while he went back to his room for a minute.   I started the car and turned on the wipers... only to find they skated across the ICE on his windshield!   I think it was down in the high 20's overnight!   That is something THIS California boy does not regularly see!

Look at those legs! LOL!

Everyone had their special washer to worry about while loading. Gordon had his Kenmore, Kevin had his combo and I had this! My 63 Lady Kenmore alphabet washer! Wow and a huge thank you and hug to Kevin!

And a good time was had by all!

We then had a wonderful visit with good food, great talk and fantastic friends. It ended too soon! Big thanks to all who helped make this happen. It was truly great to see Kevin again and my day was made to meet Gordon in person. We will have to do this again, hopefully taking more time!

Money Shot:

I'll say. It's worth its weight in...well...gold.

I'm glad you guys had such a great time. Nice washers too. The 24" Kenmore certainly will clean up nicely from the looks of it. That Norge is not bad either, but the Holy Grail as always is the 1963 Lady K, the pinnacle of Kenmore design.

Have a good one,
James

Kevin,
Thanks so much for the pictures of your adventure.
You found some really awesome machines.
The Combo is to die for! That is a great looking machine! I could have never
dreamed up such a machine. It looks to be in great shape.
Can't wait to hear your overview of it.
Seems like you guys had a great time.
Thanks for sharing.
Brent

24" Kenmore

That 24" wide Kenmore is awesome. I don't know where these near mint condition machines keep coming from, but I sure hope the supply is never ending!

WOODGRAIN LADY KENMORE COMBO

WOW it is neat to actually see this machine, I had know for over 20 years that this was made as the parts list that came with the machines listed to different cabinet parts used. This machine should go with the Whirlpool [ Ford Country Squire ] washer and dryer. I guess that the LKM combo would have to be the 1969 Chrysler Town & Country Wagon with dual-air and real [ plastic ] woodgrain siding, LOL. My brother Jeff and I had this car many years ago and I am sorry that I got rid of it, but a panicked when Hi-test gas hit 75 cents per gallon LOL.
