Heres one for 'ya--------------the new tub "Nut & Seal" assembly for my '55 Unimatic (Part#5876864) contains a rather large (1 1/2 in dia. x 1 in long) steel spacer. There is a small "tang" on the outer edge of both ends of the "spacer". The instructions included in the box DO NOT SHOW THIS "SPACER" but DO SHOW the other parts. A mention is made of a "spacer", but it refers you to "step 4". Now, "step 4" makes NO MENTION of a "spacer" much less where it would be installed!!!! Keep in mind, when this mechanism was broken down for reoperation, there was no spacer such as this on it!
Now to thicken the plot------The "Repairmaster" for "Unimatic" has a photo on page 47, figure #73 that shows the "spacer" (E). However, IT DOES NOT SHOW OR EXPLAIN WHERE THE SPACER GOES!
I will attempt to attach a link to the photo of the spacer I took, but as this is a "first" for me be patient----it might not work!
Any ideas on where in the assembly this "spacer" goes?
