My ex-boss would love those fans! I saw some nice box and window fans on eBay the other. I really like this one, but the seller wants $300.00 for it.

My paternal grandparents had a Philco exactly like your 1938 model. Luckily my cousin who has it now was able to take it with him when he & his partner evacuated during Hurricane Katrina. It now holds a place of honor in their home in southern IL.

My ex-boss had the cutest little fan. It wasn't very big, and was on a very decorative stand, can't remember if it oscillated or not. It also had a cloth covered cord. I didn't move a whole lot of air, unless you were directly in front of it. But it was sure pretty to look at.

It was my most favorite job. This picture of me is from a newpaper article that was in our local paper.
