Need a little help here

So, ran into a bit of a problem with the Ward 860 washer. Had a burning rubber smell, went under the old girl and found a whole bunch of rubber flakes and chunks amd this pulley fell down. I am assuming there was a rubber bushing of some sort attached to this as it is too big of an opening to go back on It's own. Anyone know where i can get the part or part number? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

if no original type rubber damped pulley can be found,a standard one of correct diameter should work ok-perhaps a maytag pulley might be close?Other washers that used rubber damped pulley hubs include solid tub hotpoints and 1-18 frigidaires.AS a child,Norges were were a real fave of mine because they were loud and powerful and I liked the panel design

Rubber Isolated Motor Pulley

Norge used these on better models to reduce noise, and as you found they sometimes failed. You can use the non-rubber isolated motor pulleys from the cheaper models, they are the same size all the way back to the 50s.

would anybody happen to have a part number for the non rubber isolated motor pulley?

Remove the pulley parts from the motor, and take them to a hardware store or farm supply store. They will be able to match your parts up with something that will work. That is what I did with my Norge/Wards.

What a beautiful machine that Norge is.
My wife was able to order one through our local appliance guy. Should be in tomorrow. If everything goes well we should be back in business for around $18.

Pulley that we recived had too small inner diameter opening. I found this at Tractor Supply - correct measurments, anybody have an idea if this would be ok to use?

If it fits the motor shaft, and the pulley is the same size, it should work just fine. TSC is where I purchased my replacement pulley as well, BTW.

RE Norge parts

A funny thing is, many Norge parts are available at auto parts stores, Norge was made by Borg Warner, I found out that Norge dryer belts are available under the Borg Warner part.number.

Everything is back together and the old girl is running again!

Went to TSC and bought a 2 1/2 inch pulley with 1/2 inch bore, perfect match

Now to find the plastic/rubber strip that goes around the tub opening, current one is in sad shape lol.
