Hi All, I should preface this by saying we do not have an overflow problem with our washer (a Speed Queen AWS76NW). This is just an informational question. I checked Google but didn't see this specific question answered.
When installing a washer, is there a reason to have the drain hose hanging down a few feet from where it comes out of the machine, before it ascends up to the standpipe? That's the way the Sears guys installed it.
My partner is at the beach almost every day, and he accumulates a huge amount of sand in his socks. I'm wondering if the sand can eventually build up in this loop and clog the drain pipe.
Thanks as always for any info.
