We are remodeling our kitchen using old appliances. We have a 1950 or 1951 Youngstown Kitchens sink/dishwasher unit. It is new, but looks like it had been partially installed in the past (it had some water in the heater). We have had it in our basement for 18 years along with a new 1947 Frigidaire RJ-60 range. We bought both of them from the same old hardware/appliance/furniture store. They had them since new and both have small problems from improper installation efforts and removed parts for repair on other units. The stove was wired wrong and had a missing burner and switch. We found a used burner and switch a few years ago and I ran the wires according to the wiring diagram on the back. It works great and we are now using it as our only stove (one of the new burners is bad-from improper wiring?).
Our main questions are about the dishwasher. There is a part missing. I believe that it is the water pressure sensor. Looking through the front access door, it goes on the front left side of the pump where it attaches to a hose that goes to the center of the drum. There is what looks like a homemade bracket to attach it to. There are also 3 wires that I think go to the missing part (1 green; 1 blue; 1 red). There are also another 3 loose wires that I believe go to the switch for the lid latch (also 1 green; 1 blue; 1 red).
Does anyone have a wiring diagram? Since our stove was wired wrong, I think it would be a good idea to check all of the wires. If not, could you help me as to where to attach these six wires?
Could you also help with any info about the missing part? What is it? Where could we get one? Or, what could we use as a replacement?
Lastly, we are missing some of the linkage that opens the lid (near the timer). I may be able to make this if you could send me a picture.
We have not found any repairmen in our area that are willing to help, so since I was able to fix the stove, I was hoping that with some help I could also fix the dishwasher.
Thank you,
