We have a 5 year old Whirlpool Duet WFW9150WW00 that is giving me an F7E1 error code, washer quits half way through the wash cycle. From what I've found, this error code would be for the motor tachometer. So what does this mean? Complete replacement of the motor? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I would hate to junk this machine so soon.

Have you checked for any lint build up or other foreign objects in the button catcher located behind the base kick plate? Just a suggestion. Also, unplug the washer for a few minutes. Then plug it back in sort of a rebooting.

Another thing always to check are loose/dirty/bad conections. So, unplugg ALL conectors at the main board and all other parts, check if they were loose or dirty, eventually clean them and reconect them again. While doing this, check for broken or bend wires.
Hope I could help you.
