Hi guys, I hope someone on here can help me out.
A good friend of mine has a Hotpoint dishwasher, likely late-70's or early 80's model.
It was in the condo since he bought it in 1999, and the condo was built in the 1970's.
Recently, my friend told me that it was leaking, and a repairman told him the front door seal needed replacing, but he never got back to my friend about it.
Since I don't have any info on servicing it, I asked him to give me a model number at least.
He phoned me and gave me the only number he could find - 206C1513P001.

I'd appreciate some help with this if possible, like tracking down a door seal, hopefully a source for one, and/or some service info or tips.
Thanks in advance.
Matt

The model & serial number for the machine are on a small plate on the inside of the door opening, usually on the left side. Once you have the model number, go to repairclinic.com or searspartsdirect.com. Using the model number, you can search for the part # and availability. If the dishwasher was built late enough into the 70's, it may share many parts with GE dishwashers of the day. If that's the case, then the door seal is most likely available. Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks, bigalsf.
I mentioned your suggestions to my friend, and he will get back to me once he does that.
I told him to also note any of the controls and graphics locations on the front panel to help with this.
This may be a 1960's model too, but we'll see.

UPDATE:
My friend finally found the MODEL NUMBER of his dishwasher.
It's Hotpoint model HDA2220Z00BB.
I found the Owners Manual online, and also a part number for the leaking door gasket.
WD08X10007 NLA, but replaced by WD0X10016
The owners manual is dated 1997, and also references under the GE brand.
Now, where to get the darn gasket....?

Production of this model dishwasher started in September of 1997, so from around the era your friend bought the condo. It's a pretty BOL model so may well have been put in just for the purposes of selling the condo.

The Hotpoint dishwasher plant closed in the early 90s, so this unit is just a rebadged GE.

The current gasket number is WD08X10016 and available all over the internet, including directly from GE, for around $20.

Thanks hvtech42.
I did some searching around, the GE website says it's no longer available.
Other sites also seem to be void of having it as well.

Between the frustration of searching, looking it up, and my friend's attitude towards just buying a whole new machine, I'm ready to end this nightmare.
