All sorted out!

Took some detective work but we finally sorted it out:-) The water aerator/injector hose was in good shape, but we eventually noticed one of the clamps was missing. It rusted off and only was small piece of it was located. This allowed a very small drip to occur during the fill and we can only assume this puddle was getting blown out during the spin cycle, and running down the back collecting under the bottom. DH found the perfect size clamp in his workshop, so total cost of repair = 0. I'm a happy camper, and yes Yogitunes, you certainly were right about the "ghost thing"!

Yes Trish, glad you have it repaired.

I was trying to say what Yogi told you. I'm not in the repair field. Sorriest thing we did was let that '95 Maytag dependable care fabric-matic go. Older is better, older is more.

YAY!!!....We knew you could do it!

Congrats on locating and fixing your small issue.....

you would be surprised how many people would have thrown a machine out over a tiny leak.....only to discover it was something so simple...

can be a bit puzzling at times, as you have discovered, a clamp was missing, especially if you didn't know one belonged there....

you may have this all back together, but not a bad time to consider if there are any other clamps rusted/missing, or hoses needing replaced...maybe the belts...a little preventative goes a long way....

check and clean your dryer vent as well....
