Help Support :

WOW!!!!! GREAT FIND GREG...definitely better than paying $800-900 for it! You find the neatest stuff behind Lowe's...

This would be great fun...put 2 magnets by the lidswitch and let 'er rip!! Although the lid should probably be closed during that lid-spray-fill!! OY I can imagine the mess that would make!

Hi Coldspot.....sure hope norge tags here to stay...i bought a set last january and i like them....much gentler action than DD whirlpool, great tub capacity, lighted dryer interior...not bad machines....

Production pulled?

Didn't Maytag pull the production of th Neptune TL? Or was this just a nasty rumour?

is that top plastic

Good for you for finding a new toy. The top looks plastic but it doesn't have non-drip edges. and that console. NO.
Has anyone noticed that maytag was opening stand alone stores. What is up with that? They are like the new Krispy-Kreme stores. It is no wonder whirlpool is buying them. I hope they are not paying too much.
So we don't like the whirlpool transmission? I thought of all the new washers out there whirlpool was the most reliable?
I have seen several front load Whirlpool and frigidaire washers in the recycle pile at my neighborhood dumping station.
Does Maytag even make the old style washer that had the 2 belts on the bottom that connected the pump and motor (and when leaked oil would spread it all over the floor underneathe)? I thought that was their award winning design.

Yes the whirly designed tranny are loved. And are very reliable. It's simply that 90 degree arc agitation stroke coupled with the rapid 120 or 180 strokes per minute that's very rough on fabrics. And if thatr's the Helical drive tranny from Maytag you're describing, no, they were replaced with the orbital tranny

We have maytag stores here too. The company I work for owns 2 of them. Its their new concept, instead of the old "Direct Maytag" or "mom&pop maytag home appliance center".

The neptune TL is still around but now there is only 1 instead of 2. They discontinued the 9800. I suppose this stands to reason since they also didcontinued the 7500 F/L. The controls were almost identical.
