Neptune TL & Drying Cabinet

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Last month I cam across a Neptune TL LCD touch-screen console I was going to stash away should my Neptune dryer's fail. -or- If I came across a Neptune TL with a digi console, I'd try and swap it out.
Only problem I can see is that the lower end model might not have a heater, so some cycles may not work as intended.
I knew one day science would be fun!

Does anyone here have a Launderall? I really like the concept.

Staber washers seem to have problems with reliability and horrible customer service.
One of our members here had one and the thing didn't take long to fall apart and customer service didn't want to help at all with it.

MT Drying Cabinet Dryers

Alex you should diffidently to get one if you get the chance, I got my hands on a new gas model for my laundry room here at home. I was just suggesting that the lower dryer part is not the fastest or most reliable dryer for someones only dryer if they are doing 10 or more heavy loads a week. Unfortunately MT designed and built this dryer using the cheap 27" Norge dryer as the starting point for this otherwise great idea. Maytag had pretty much stopped trying to build and sell the best quality appliances by the time these machines appeared.

Maytag should have instead have been more aggressive in fixing the problems of the Neptune FL washers that were starting to sink their reputation for reliability. The Neptune FL washer was a well though out and and built appliance designed by MT  and like every MT appliance since their first automatic washer there were problems at first and in the past MT always kept improving and redesigning until they got it right. But in this day in age consumers are not so patent, today we expect to buy a new appliance and have it work for a long time without having to call for service. And if we do have have early problems we expect the manufacturer to fix items at little or no cost.

On the Neptune FL washers MT should have immediately have offered free parts for the entire washer for at least 10 years and maybe a low cost service fee to cover labor to perform the needed repairs. MT did make a lot of improvements in the MTNTs but they offered little help to most consumers on such a highly promoted product.

One thing I like is the ability for the drying cabinet to use dryer sheets to freshen/scent the clothes without having to touch them.

Do any other modern dryers do this?  I seem to recall this feature being available back in the day of vintage laundry appliances.
