This is a baycrest w/d for sale on Craigslist I came across. I thought id share it and thought it was a very interesting w/d. It's def ge built with hotpoint parts. Looks to be in great condition.

This washer is made by Genereal Electric.
Also same as the Hotpoint.

The BayCrest was later changed to Beaumark.
The Viking washer (Eaton's Depaprtment Store)
The Moffatt, Brentwood, and McClary and a couple of Kenmore washers in the late 80's early 90's sold in Canada were made my General Electric.

The majority of the Kenmore washers are made by Whirlpool.

the device on the agitator post---

it's the lock for the agitator. That machine has 2 agitators. One for normal loads and one for hand washables underneath. The two agitators nested together inside the machine.

The 'agitator within a agitator'...

Here's the dual agitator system courtesy of Martin. Kinda neat. This washer reminds me of the PennCrest appliances also made by GE but with very Hotpointish features...

Yogitunes had a thread that pictured the hand wash agitator in action.

Yogi's nested pair were the ramped version. This machine has the straight vane version of nested agitators.

I'm not sure if this hand wash agitator is slightly ramped like Yogi's or if they're short straight vanes. It's been a while since I've seen them and I can't remember what it looked like.

Wow, that has to be one of the last Baycrest washer and dryer sets! The bilingual control dials would suggest mid to late 70s (the Baycrest name was dropped in 1979 and Beaumark took over). Oddly enough, both brands were made by Hotpoint.
