"Conditions & Softens Water" Sounds like it is loaded with phosphates.
News to me as well. Ever since I can remember dishwashers usually came with a sample or instructions to use either Cascade, Dishwasher All, or Electrosol. That just reminded me hadn't thought of Dishwasher All in a long time. The box looks like it's from the 60's or early 70's

Were produced by companies that had financial resources to muscle in on appliance makers. The average small business producing products like the above couldn't possibly match the free giveaways inside a new machine that the big three could.
Even though dishwashers were not as a common sale as they are today you'd still be talking about hundreds of units produced a year. That is allot of free samples.
am also going to guess at least with the big three dishwasher makers could count on some consistency of product and or that is what was used for testing. Who knows or knew what was in some of these off the wall brands. If they didn't perform well Madame would be on the telephone complaining her new dw wasn't working properly.
