NEVER USED 1957 Kenmore washer-- HEADS UP!

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

The machine was located on an absolutely beautiful farmstead about 30 miles northwest of downtown right on the edge of the metro. The person who sold it to me was a friend of the family. The husband bought both this washer and the matching dryer for his wife in 1957. The wife loved the dryer and used it to death, it was still hooked up, but she didn't trust automatics and continued to use her Maytag wringer until her death. The washer, dryer and wringer were all still there in this basement <br
I've heard this story over and over again with some of this machines.

Robert, I am so glad that you were able to get the machine!! What a beauty!! And it is even a Suds O Matic, how neat. That agitator is truly a work of art!! Congratulations!!

WOW!

Robert

Smelling salts, please <br
That's amazing in the pictures, I'm sure the pictures DON'T even begin to do it justice. <br
Congratulations!! <br
So, how many loads have you washed, dried, and folded?? Lo <br
Any leaks or squeeks <br

I agree with Greg, though... You may consider sending it back. I mean, really... Rusty shipping braces? <br
Feh! <br
I'm sure that'd never be the case on a Maytag.

Let us know when the Frigidaire's are on Craigs List....

Keep one to spin the rest of the water out of the clothes! LO
Congratulations to you Robert, I see the Minnesota skies are bright tonight-or is that the reflection of that never before used tub light?

Speechless Robert, just speechless. Please - bottle that new washer smell! Brand new porcelain must feel amazing. And that agitator *gasp <br
So - when is the exciting first wash going to happen <br

That is the model my mother had. A painted cabinet, and no ozone lamp. Must have been the model one down from the Lady Kenmore. At any rate, I had always thought is was a 1958 model for some reason. Seems like 1958 was stamped on the tranny. That machine was still in use until the early 1970's <br
Very nice catch Robert!! Not often that one finds a "new in box" 50+ year old washer! How silly people were about their wringer washers. Think of all the extra work that poor lady did all those years
Is this a keeper for you?

Congrats on getting that BEAUTIFUL Kenmore! If only everyone could look that good at 50. That agitator is so shiny I would not want to put any wear and tear on it either. But you've gotta give her some use; she has waited long enough. I notice the oval lint filter does not have the turn latch. I wonder why. <br
I can't wait until you hook her up and give her a run. I would love to hear a 1957 Kenmore run with her original motor <br
Good Luck
James
