Hot Wash.....

You are correct Rapunzel: only on the Allergy cycle do you get a truly hot water wash.

Even if you select 'Hot' on the Heavy or Regular cycles, it will fill with hot only on the 'Eco-Active' part of the wash cycle and then fill with cold water.

Beautiful unit

Hi Leon,
A beautiful machine you have there, well chosen, actually if and when the LG Turbodrum departs me and goes to washer heaven I may even go for that machine myself in the 7kg size as I have noticed in various retail outlets you can get the 7 kg for about $100 only more than the 5.5 Quicksmart.
I too like the idea of putting the detergent inside the agitator post because you would have the agiator fins at the bottom helping to dissolve the powder.
Question, if you use liquid detergent does it go in the post as well?.
You have purchased well mate, hope you enjoy it for many years to come.
Cheers.
Steve.

Hey Leon, very nice machine. Aside the control panel looks virtually the same as the F&P intuitive which was the first washer I brought when I arrived in Australia. Great machine and still going very strong. Yours has a faster spin and bigger capacity I believe. The recirculation and the little spin during the fill after the recirculation of hot water is really neat and different to my machine. Also the recirculation when full before the agitation is different.

Interesting that F&P use the same size agitator in their small, med and large washers. I was surprised when I realized the agitator in my small smartdrive was the same as in the big size intuitive.

I am very happy using cold water after the warm or hot recirculation to suspend the load for agitating but I struggle with 100% cold water washing. Even with Cold Power detergent it doesn't feel right.

Also I can buy Tide Downey liquid at Coles supermarket. It is a little pricy at $20 a pop. Coles had it on special the other week at $15. I have also got hold of Hurricane laundry liquid from USA in Chemist warehouse which was pretty cheap.

Thanks for the video leon

"Tide Downey"

Don't buy Tide from Coles - they are rip-off merchants anyway. It's much cheaper at Costco and you'll help competition by smashing the Woolies/Coles duopoly.

Tide Downey in Au.

Well Rod, you are correct, Tide Downy down to a little over $10 brings it in to line with Aussie products. Sorry Rapunzal, I admire your sentiment re the Coles / Woolies monopoly here in Australia but I had to buy a couple. I suspect Coles will stop selling it soon. I do wish there was more completion here in Au. Supermarkets and food in general is very expensive here, even compared to the UK, which by the way has a myriad of different major supermarkets.

@ mayfan69

You've found a fine washer.  May you enjoy it in good health and clean clothes.

@ Pierreandreply4.  Please stop turning EVERY thread you post in into a sounding board for your FALSE and COMPLETELY UNTRUE cold water washing rhetoric.  Many of us have tried to reason with you over time but you are too BULLHEADED to listen.

Your intelligent input as a member is always welcome.  However,  your arrogant, bullheaded claims that we are all wrong on cold water washing, (Which are NOT TRUE In threads that have nothing to do with that subject) are NOT.

Thanks

@ Steve,Simon and Nick

Thanks for your comments, appreciated. Simon, you can also buy Tide online from www.usafoods.com.au as well.

Nick, I personally refrained from responding to Pierre's comments, as ive been advised there's no reasoning with him. But, obviously you and many others would agree with your comments. Am I the only one that thinks washing towels (known lint givers) with other fabric types is idiotic???

Again, thanks for your comments.
Cheers
Leon.

"Has anyone tried the Ivory Snow?"

Yes and it's nice. Love the scent and it cleans well.[this post was last edited: 12/29/2013-08:14]

Amen to towels only

Put me down as a towels on their own wash,no way with anything else, or else you will end up with spicks and specks galore on your clothes.
I noticed today also that the Tide with Downy was half price at Coles, didn't buy any though went for Fab with Allure Spice.
Rapunzel agree with you on the Coles/Woolies duopoly, but unfortunately where we live they are the only 2 options, although with Aldi opening in the last few months we have been getting a few things from them.
We really do need 1 or 2 US or UK stores to open up down here.
Hi Leon, was just in Brisbane last week for a little rest and recreation, nice clean city you have there, especially liked Roma street gardens, Southbank area and watched NYE'S eve fireworks from outside the casino.
Also as someone who uses public transport immensely, really like the Gocard system. hope our Opal card gets up and running soon.
Sorry for hijacking your thread.
All the best for 2014.
Steve.

My F&P has been a pleasure to use. Replaced the recirculator/pump in 5 minutes. It does a beautiful job on all types of clothes (towels are washed by themselves) :>)
I have a friend who hates her Cabrio and I suggested an F&P Washsmart but can't find a store here in the US that sells them. I can only find the Aquasmart. Any suggestions?
