Yeah maybe you're right, hadn't thought of that! Maybe it was a late addition/improvement to the packaging. It certainly stops any messy drips, it's like a squeezy ketchup bottle I thought!

You're probably quite right, concerning a late improvement in dispensing. I wish they had made all of the bottles with it from the start.

I used to find that with Hoover appliances; I'd buy a machine, then a few months later when I was in a shop, I would notice the machine now had, say, a metal door catch rather than plastic, or the dispenser had a new design, etc.

Quite annoying! (I'm convinced the first production runs of anything, are all prototypes. The Mk 2 versions always seem to have an extra bit of thought added to them).

Ariel Excel Gel

Hi Jamie,
No not that I have found so far but its only been on the market for a few weeks.

I have found over the years that a major component of odour, slime and mould buildup is the under dosing of detergent and the over dosing of fabric softener, yes low temperature washes can contribute to the problem but are not always the sole cause.
So far my Dyson and Miele W3985WPS smell clean and fresh as does my laundry. Procter & Gamble appear to have developed a superb product which has the potential to save huge amounts of energy.

I must say Ariel Excel Gel is incredible on whites, whatever Optical Brightening Agents are in it do a stellar job. My whites have always been extremely white but it has given them a glow which believe it or not is especially noticeable on an overcast day.

I wonder how long it will be before they roll this product out Worldwide? I read that they launched in the UK as it is a particularly competitive market and UK consumers demand innovative products. It also took 3 years and 5 million trial versions to create the final product.

It'll be interesting to see whether the US gets a Tide version, although P&G liquitabs have still not launched there, so who knows. Maybe it is too concentrated for the US market right now because I noticed on a recent trip to the US that Wisk, all and even Snuggle, seemed to have backtracked slightly from the 3x concentrate Small & Mighty into new larger bottle 2x concentrates, presumably to keep the bottles in-line with Tide, Downy etc, bottle sizes and dosing.

OMG! Be still my heart.

I LOVE Ariel!! We can only get the regular Arial powder here in California and after searching for what seemed like forever, I found some Ariel Bajaspuma in Mexico! Of course I don't live in Mexico, so through a friend of a friend of a friend's, daughter's mother-in-law, who lives in Mexico, went out and got some for me, gave it to her daughter in law, all the way back to the friend of a friend in Southern California who drove it up to me in Northern California for my birthday last year. Then back in July, via the same network, she sent me 5 more bags of Ariel for my b-day! I was so excited but a tad disappointed because it wasn't the same nice smelling Ariel, it was the heavy scented Ariel that I remember getting at the Laundromat dispenser in Paris last year in the little cubes in the foil pack (like someone's picture here.) I collected several types of Ariel when I was in Paris and Italy last year...My whole reason for going practically was to collect soaps! Imagine my disappointment when I realized that because we (my SO) where flying into Paris and then from Paris to Rome, that we where only allowed about 40 lbs each of luggage and it was like 6 Eruos a pound after that! I was CRUSHED. I made my SO bring an empty suitcase, because I was going to bring back suitcases full of all the soaps from Europe for my collection! So I only ended up with a few Ariel's (some really cool ones that are green liquid and look like pillows!) some Mir, Dash and a few other small bottles. My little pack of Ariel tabs from the wash house got smashed. I wanted that big bottle of Ariel with that cool little bubble on top! I have a box of Ariel from Germany that a friend brought back from his trip for me. Anyway my long sad story aside I am beside myself of course seeing the new Ariel!!

I tried to check out Asda's website and Tedesco's but you either need a UK zip code or club number to get into the site. Does anyone know of a store/website that I could get onto to buy the new soap that would ship to America? Honestly, we have THE MOST BORING soap here! lol I've waged a one man campaign with P&G to sell Ariel here in the US, but surprisingly, they won't listen to me! ;)

Thanks for the help and enjoy your fabulous new Ariel you lucky boys.

Laurent, just to add...

...I've done the exact same thing re: bringing laundry stuff back from other countries, so you're not alone!! My last trip to the US involved a stash of Tide Total Care HE, Downy Total Care, and Downy Pure Essentials Aloe & White Lilac and a bottle of Cheer HE too! Add to that a bag of Cascade Complete tabs for good measure... (Thanks to a trip to Target!)

Let's see, if I buy 3 bottles, it'll cost about $23.33 per bottle.... If I buy more, it'll cost less per bottle, so if I buy 24 bottles, it'll be $14.16 per bottle....
3 bottles = about $70.00
24 bottles = about $340.00

I think I'm gonna buy 3 bottles for now and see if I like it then stock up!

Thanks for the link Spoodles!!!

UK Postcode BT22 2SP

Hi Laurent,
Here is a UK Postcode for you or anyone that wants to explore the Tesco or Asda web sites. It relates to Main Street in the village of Kircubbin, County Down, Northern Ireland.
Kircubbin is about six miles from my home. A number of businesses including two Banks use this Postcode; please enter it in upper case including the space.

I just bought three bottles, I'm not sure whether or not I hope I like it or hate it! If I like it, I'll be spending crazy amounts of cash on it!!! If I hate it, I'll be back to Persil which seems to be getting very very hard to find!

Persil Hard To Find?

Really?

Have you tried ordering directly from Miele USA?

Am trying hard to use down my stash of Megaperls "sensitive", but the darn scent Henkel has saddled previously unscented verion of this product is getting to me. Weeks later will take an item from a drawer or closet and it still reeks of Persil.

Same thing with Persil liquid for darks/blacks. Have three or so bottles in my stash and one am trying to use up, but again the scent (rather like cheap hair dye), just doesn't go away.

Have tried extra rinses, using smaller and smaller amounts of product, nothing seems to work.

The grass is always greener...

Hey Spoodles and 2Drums,

Thank you so much for the info. I was able to get on the sites and drool over all the Ariel! And the cute little pillows (Liquitabs). Just like the ones I brought home from Paris!

Isn't it funny on how we view our own everyday things? lol. God, TIDE?! Downey?!! CHEER?!!! Blah. You are right, a trip to Target will get you carts full of that stuff. I'm so tired of all those plain old soaps and you all want them and YOU are the ones who have the fabulous Ariel. lol. Next time you come for a visit, bring me a suitcase of Ariel and I'll send you back with a suitcase of Tide. ;)

Ok, so I'm going to order a few bottles, but I'm confused on what "Biological" and "Non Biological" means? We don't have such terms on our soap. We have Biodegradable or something on our detergent lables but not Biological. :)

Thanks again guys.

Enzymes?!

Well why didn't they just say so! ;)

Well then, Biologicals it is. Must have our Enzymes. (gosh, I miss Axion)

Thanks Launderess.

Glad you guys in the US took the plunge and are going to be are giving it a whirl!

If only there was a US site like that selling your detergents to the UK. :)
