Waring RB75 RPM Retro Blender

The Waring "reproduction" of Golittlesport's vintage blender is really a completely re-engineered new version. The styling is similar, but definitely not the same; the new one is squattier and the vent louvres aren't identical. The thing also has- get this- a tachometre on it, to measure the blending RPM's. They certainly couldn't leave well enough alone, now could they? Wouldn't be modern American marketing to do that...

Here's a good one

Sunbeam from around 1965. It's heavy and powerful like an Osterizer. One of my Aunt's had one like this.

Rich , Great blender! I see you have a Mixmaster! I don't remember seeing that one. What model is it?
 
My vote goes to the "low profile" GE blender as the best vintage blender. I have a small collection of these. Being low, they can fit under virtually any cabinet. Their top model was a powerful 700+ watts.

When Consumer Reports tested blenders (I believe late sixties or early seventies) they said GE was the only one that could whip cream as it's low speed was low enough that the cream would not be converted to butter. If I recall, it also had top marks in making peanut butter.

In addition to their sexy looks, they are relatively quiet and don't require as much assistance to get food to process (i.e. prodding food down toward the blades with a spoon).

I also have Oster, and Hamilton Beaches, which I like very much, but nothing quite matches up to the GE's. The only negative is the blades are not designed to screw on like the HB and Oster's so you can't put the blender jar into the dishwasher.

Mark, I found a PB-5 like yours at a garage sale with that same jar and I think it's the correct one for that model but I don't know when the PB-5's were made. I have the detachable handle that clips onto this type of jar also. Fortunately, blenders are small enough to store and I don't get a lot of flack from my partner for having a couple of them with spare jars shoved away in the garage pantry cabinet, but only the modern KA is allowed to be displayed on the kitchen counter. I personally think my old Warings are better than making smoothies and blender drinks than the KA is.
