Thank God she is not Southern. Unfortunately McSames ancestors are. He has ancestors from Mississippi. They were wealthy slave traders but then again so were Obama's. I heard a historian at a recent conference tell a group that O'Bama's ancestors in Africa sold slaves to Portugese slave traders who in turn sold them in America. It's amazing how many connections we all have through so many different ways.

Dubya has a nickname, "The Cowboy," with some of our friends in the UK. Too bad they're not including him in with cowboys like Teddy, "Rough Rider," Roosevelt!

Damnit. It's English and the Prez is representing America! I don't care if newk-ya-ler is the way they say it in TX. That still doesn't make it correct, and makes him sound like the village idiot he is!

Sorry. An accent variation would be NUclear vs. nuCLEar. Changing -ear to -ulur is not accent variation, it's mispronouncing a word, IMHO.

I Had a great tutor who taught me great grammar as well as proper pronunciation of nouns,verbs pronouns,and adjectives. I am not the world's best speller but I am able to converse with any class of people and use different vocabularies depending on who I am associating with and am able to understand what the conversation is about.I despise hearing wrong pronunciation as well as wrong use of different words such as:

1)ONLIEST "You're the onliest one I trust."
2)ONCET "You're oncet,twicet,free time the lady"
3)Ax "Let me ax you a question"
4)DEST or DEXD "I left my homework in my dest/dexd."
5)NUCULAR "If we don't watch out,there will be a nucular attack soon!"
6)USING "OF"INSTEAD OF "HAVE" "I would of won 2nd place if I had of done it right."
7)Ain't instead of "am not" I "ain't goin"there!"

There are at least twelve more that have "excaped" my mind but I am sure there's someone here who can add a few to this list!

Between and among are two more misused words.there can only be two items between but any more are among.you can't have something between three or more because there is conflict.Two is in between three and one in numerical order but among three numbers involved.One can be between three and two as long as it's not in numerical order because one is among the three numbers mentioned here.It sure isn't between them is it?So,if 4 people have seven dollars total but each one has different amounts each,they have seven dollars among them not between
