New Dishes!

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Pete,

Silly me, I thought you started this thread to share your new plates with us.

Last time I checked, the term "new dishes" was not synonymous with "what is the correct way to load a dishwasher?" but then what do I know, since I am not an experienced appliance repairman my command of the English language may not be up to par.

Nice set of dishes. I like the bowls in particular.

OK, I can sense that a lot of you are shouting at me to, so I'm ducking and running now . . .

It amazes me how some people think that since they are "appliance techs" that they know it all or seem to think that they do. Everyone has a way of doing things right or wrong its how THEY do it. Sometimes there is a better way and sometimes not.
I am surprised that I am controlling myself from really cutting loose on the roid that seems to think that he does things better. I am sure I am not the only one that has noticed that what with being whiney about getting "off topic" and gawd knows what else...seems to have left a bitter taste in ones mouth after awhile. Gawd it must hurt to have the panties in a bunch all the f-ing time.
My 2 cents and I am unanimous in that.

This is the controversial loading? That's how I would have done it.

Looking at the rack pins, appears plates fit most stable that way.

I have loaded like that several times with saucers & dessert plates in RJ's TT Whirly.

Also in the parents' TT GE (which is what Peter has).

Don't recall any mention of chocolate cake left behind. :-)

Hey Peter, VERY NICE DISHES!! I like 'em a lot. How many place settings? And you loaded very correctly too sir. The top rack was pefectly loaded for the plates yo9u put up there cuz the back pins in the middle of the rack are for smaller plates and fruit/fingertip bowls. It does qualify for a BobLoad status--based on arrangement. Now if they'd only been encrusted with food soils!! I didn't realize I was committing a crime by loading all my plaes going the same direction across the entire bottom rack on my Kenmore Elite TT? Coulda fooled mee cuz my encrusted oatmeal soup bowls have come out clean even when the most farthest "left" bowl was facing against the left wall. And I'e done the same with PowerClean based WPs and Kenmores as well as old D&M designs. Whenever I've had a non-tower(ed) bottom rack, that's how I've always done it and no worse for the performance wear lol. Hell, I have putt all dinner plates and said soup bowls in the top rack of my new TT (I had a belt-drive Maytag type of moment don't ya know) and everything came out super clean. I find if I keep everyting facing the same direction, I can actually get one more plate in easily cuz they're not like bookends facing each other and narrowing the gap between them.

Dishes!

Thank you all. I loaded the dishwasher going across in one direction than back the other way because that is the rack arrangement. I would have perfered to load straight across but it doesn't allow for it. I do like the dishwasher and the new dishes.

Peter, I'm glad you got those dishes, they're great! I like the square plates too. I'll probably get some eventually but haven't settled on any, I just know I like them. There were some Fire King vintage ones where I first learned of them, but they're usually so expensive, so I'll probably go with something else. White dishes are so nice because you can do anything you wish with your linens and they go with any decor or type of food.

That looks like quite the flexible dishwasher!

Dishwasher

Thanks Scott,
Yes the dishwasher is flexable. I hate towers in dishwashers.
Once you get used to a tall tub you don't want to go back. Although I would love a D&M Kenmore or KitchenAid hobart series.

Peter:

Nice dishes, they seem to have a slight contemporary/asian flair to them.

As for loading them there is one definitive test, load them your way, then next time load them the other way. The way they come out cleaner is your answer.

I'm willing to bet they'll come out the same either way. Clean.
