Finaly! You may sign on to (electroluxappliances.com) and go on the virtual laundry tour!!! The washer is 4.7 cu.ft.!!!!Everytime you visit, you're entered in to a contest to win a pare!A dollar is also automaticaly sent to research funds for ovarian cancer.

1) are those prices correct?
------------------------------

2) Thank God I quit my job... They are crazy. I'll phone Mr. Ruy (my ex-boss) immediatelly.

Now I could see a lot of stupit things they decided to change after I quit.

As an ex-Electroux's designer, and involved in part of this project, unfortunately >>>I DO NOT<<< recommend the washer.

BE MILES AWAY FROM IT!!!

(But I love the color. LOL)

-------------------------------

Now you, my friends and coleagues. Let me discover if you have good eyes...

Take a good look and try to find the huge project mistake.

I still can't believe Electrolux did it.

I am noticing,in dissapointment, that there is no door for access to the "button catcher" or washer lint filter! That was one feature the Whirlpool/Kitchenaid/Kenmore's and the GE's don't have either. The new GE Profile front loaders do but not any of their previous models did.None of the Frigidaires had it either.

Chuck

You're absoluely correct!!!

Where the hell is the button trap door?

If the user washes an old blanket and accidentaly it gets shreded by the washer, the user will have to pay for a service that could be easily done with a little bit of mess and without spending a cent.

I noticed it on the affinity family but there was too late to change the mould. (a mould can cost more than $1mi).

Now they repeat the same mistake.

That's why I hate the new generations of designers and the 3D crap.
where are the clay blocks, the 0.5mm steel wire, the cutters, the sandpaper pens, the artistic "gift" and the hands hability the designers of my generation used to have?

A simple clay model instead of an autoCAD animation would avoid this huge and ridiculous mistake.

here

is a hint, perhaps in N. America that small access door was left off to prevent user access to the drain trap.

The horizontal axis washer is an entirely new concept to most here. Owners manuals are not viewed as compelling reading. Not having user access precludes inadvertent user error.

angry from dissapointment

It realy erks me to see Billions of dollars paid out to inadiquate, careless, unfamiliar, pompis idiots they call"engineers"who don't give a rat's ass about today's home makers. As a consumer who wants to help in saving our environment,as well as save on my outgoing expenses,I would think that a company that has gone out of their way competitively to make a monster washer and dryer at a sinful and outragious price, would have gone out of their way to "kiss the customer's ass".I will bet everyone here that the same fait the "Neptunes" had after being twice the cost of the original reintroduced front loading style(Frigidaire)American washers will be occuring with the new Electroluxes.CONSUMERS ARE STUPID WHEN IT COMES TO PRODUCT MAINTANANCE!!!!Just like myself changing oil in a car(I never have driven nor have I ever had a license to)your average "Joe Schmoe" has no clue what the hell a button catcher is and would end up trying to disassemble the entire washer just to find out why it isn't draining as fast as it used to or not draining at all.that's one of the main reasons I parted with my Duets.I would have included the button catcher access door, interior washer drum light controled by a button on the control panel and perferated arms in stainless steel molded into and incorporated with the inner tub.I need a Valium!

Chuck

You don´t need a Valium!

You need a gold medal!

do you want to know what the new "engineers" and "designers", that don´t know how to use a compass, a ruler and don´t know the difference between oil pastel and crayons say about the designers from my generation and olders?

"Philippe Starck, Michael Graves, Mies Van der Rohe, Carlo Alessi and all those dinossaurs are O-B-S-O-L-E-T-E"

I would love to see Mr. Starck furious, tossing a Juicy Salif in their asses, while Mr. Graves smash their faces using a 9093 kettle.
I would participate and stuck affinity control dials under their nails.

They should wash their mouthes using Fels Naphta before saying the MASTER´S names.

They're like a cow that gives a good bucket of milk and kicks it over! All the time, effort and money spent in design, engineering, style, advertising, promotion and production and they can't put a damn little door on these to lower the service calls needed to get a damn coin or button out of a pump?GE did it with their new ones.Whirlpool/Maytag/Sears Kenmore,Speed Queen and Frigidaire are the only ones that don't have that.L.G.,GE Profile,Miele,Asko,Bosch,Seamens, and Samsung all have the "button catcher".

For What it is Worth

I just sent this e-mail to Electrolux:

Dear Electrolux:

I am in the market for a new washing machine and I was very excited to see that you are coming out with a line of laundry equipment for the U.S. residential market. From what I've seen, your machines are beauties and are exactly what I am looking for. HOWEVER, upon closer inspection, I was STUNNED that there is no front-access pump clean-out door! This is an unacceptable engineering oversight on an otherwise ultra-premium product. Unless this problem is corrected before I am ready to make my purchase, I will be compelled to make a different selection.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Martin Kaplan

Vortex Pumps..!!!

It could just be that they deceided on a past bit of UK engineering instead of the euro stuff...the three main UK laundry brands from the 60`s to the 90`s (Servis, Hotpoint & Hoover) didnt have pump access, didnt need it, they used a vortex pump which flushed everything through the pump into the drain.... the same type thats shown on The Secret Life of the Washing Machine.....!!!!!

Lets hope the detergent dispenser is built on the latest design, smooth sides and casing unlike previous euro models...
