We thought (now that we've gotten some sleep) that it would be best to post the July wash-in seperately from the Brimfield finds, so here it is! Thanks for the positive replies so far from Steve, Evan, Rich, Greg, and Tim!

The planned date will be Saturday, July 15th for the gathering. Yes, the Brimfield show will be running this day, but it will also be running for 4 days before this. That's when the serious shopping is done! If anyone would like to come in a day or two early and come with us to Brimfield, we have room in the car for a couple of passengers. We can always do a caravan of 2 or more cars if there are enough people interested! Friday is a good day since there is one new field with fresh dealers that opens that day, and the rest of the day can be spent picking through more of the show. We've found lots of goodies that were brought in mid-week, or missed the rest of the week, during these slower, more leisurely go throughs.

We can talk about this some more, but we thought we'd get the basic idea out there to see what you all thought. One thought for Saturday would be to have a good old fashioned New England lobster fest on Saturday. Yes, lobster! The details would need to be worked out, but as far as we can tell, the only thing we'd ask is that anyone wanting lobster would pitch in for the cost of the lobster. Typically, this is about or under $10. We'd get some salt potatoes and salad, shrimp, some chicken on the grill for those who don't do lobster..... Again, it can be discussed some more, but we wanted to get the basic idea out.

If you're outside of New England, even more reason to come! This isn't a geographically restricted event!!! LOL

Don't miss it, Bryan. We'll show you Texuns good ole Yankee hospitality, and more fun than you can put in a 10 gallon hat!

YEE HAW!!!!

I'm thinking about just taking a week off and touring New England, and incorporating the wash-in into my trip. I want to see Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode and Mass, and then possibly drop down into NY and New Jersey. I need to get out of town! This place is closing in on me!

When are ya coming here Bryan?

My home is always open to washer-buddies. In case I forget to invite personally, just ask!

Soon I will again have my own place and we can have a proper Toggle-fest.

I'll roll out the red carpet. Stick some laundry in the machines, fire up the ovens, stick a disky in the CD player, a whiskey in your hand and off we go....

Don't miss a NE wash-in. Too much fun to tell. Keep in mind a few days on Cape Cod or the coast of Maine do a body good in July, if you are in the area. Only 2 hours from the wash-in.

A wash in Virgin---ME!!

Hi Ritchie (irishwashboy). Welcome to the group. If you can make it to the New England wash-in in July you will have a great time. Plenty of food and fun and great people. Rich and Chuck and really GREAT HOSTS! We also did a gift swap at the last one. Great fun! Hope to see you there.

Ray

Ritchie,

I have to agree with Ray. We all had a wonderful time at the last wash-in. I've never seen a group of people, most of whom had met for the first time, instantly form a bond as quickly as I did at the wash-in.

Definitely try to make it out for the event. You won't be disappointed!!

Yankee Swap/Flea market at Wash-in

Well, before you know it, old friends will be reuniting and new friends will be made!!! Can't wait!!

We haven't discussed yet having a "Yankee Swap" as we did at the last wash-in. Any input would be appreciated on this.

Also, I was discussing this with Rich and he had another suggestion. How about an "Appliance flea market." In other words, gather all your duplicates, "needs-a-part" items, etc., etc. It's a great way to get rid of items not needed, maybe pick up an item or two that you've been looking for, etc., etc.

Let's face it, we've all got those "just had to have" items that we had second thoughts on. When done in the spirit of friendship, these swap meets can be a lot of laughs.

So, troops, post your thoughts. Only a few weeks before the summer social event of the season!!!

See you there.

Ron

Greg,

You can check with Chuck & Rich, but I'm sure whatever you bring will be delicious!!!

To the Group: Just a clarification on my last post about the "Antique Flea market," I'm sure that everyone understood that I was referring to small items (i.e., coffee pots, toasters, etc., etc.). I just didn't want you to get the impression I was going to set up a table and plunk down a '52 Norge on it.
