New !!! For 1967 The Westinghouse Terrace Top Range with Self Clean Oven

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

The Oven Element I think should be replaced.  It's hard to see in the pic, but the right side in the back near the bend in the coil has a really bright Red Spot. Brighter than the rest of the tube.

That's usually a sign that "She's gonna Blow". Right ?

This is also a No Turn Speed Broil in which I do not have the Element for that. But I really don't broil in the kitchen anymore.

The Oven Chamber is actually beautiful Porcelain. I cleaned it by hand and it's really nice. The bulb is burned out and I don't have a spare tonight, but I will post pics of the Oven tomorrow.

Awesome looking Westinghouse electric range

I personally like slide and drop in ranges. Great fine indeed! My mother was a secretary for a contractor and he often had "terrace" ranges in many of his homes that he had build during the mid to late 1960s. One lady invited mom over for coffee and wanted to show her how much she liked her new home and especially the range in the kitchen. I would replace the bake element too because of that bright glow spot. Great job cleaning it up too! I never broil in the oven due to the mess to clean up after, even with a self-cleaning oven.

Nice stove!

>Went over to the Secret Storage Facility

I hope in the excitement of getting this Westinghouse stove, you took the proper precautions to ensure you weren't being tailed on your way to the Secret Storage Facility. LOL

Thanks Guys.

@ Russell I like the style of range too. I'm thinking of a way to have at least one side panel made. A friend of mine who is a retired welder is moving back to the Cape from Nantucket. And he loves projects. So I have a list of ideas to see if he can fabricate them.

@ Kevin Thanks. I love the range. My Mom when I was like 6 or 7 years old bought a Westy exactly like your other Westy range. I cooked on that range until I moved out of the house in 1975. It's amazing how when you cook on different types of Electric Ranges, you remember how the heat is controlled by each type of burner coil. Like the Radiant Tubes, Calrod, Corox, etc. I felt so at home and had a little trip down memory lane making dinner on that range. MedHi was just like I remembered it.

I was going to haul the TT out until I get a new Bake Element but decided I don't need to bake anything since the holidays are over and can adjust my menu to Range Top for a bit.

John... LOL I did keep my eyes peeled for Drones and on the rear view mirror on my way to and from the SSF. I Love that little Range. It is so cool looking and unique. I sent a few pics to my Dad's wife and she seriously asked me if I would find one for her. She just fell in love with it which was a surprise to me. Anything beats that awful Bosch Glass Top Range she has. I dread cooking a meal on that range. She's had that Bosch for 8 years now and I still even hate boiling potatoes on that thing. LOL

It looks nice Eddie! It could almost be paired with your Control Tower dryer!

What are the two pilot lights for? One for the oven and the other for the door locked?

Hey Phil.

One light is for the Oven and the other is a Pilot for the Surface Corox Units.

I can't stop cooking on that stove. I just Love it. And again... It's So Damn Cute.

And You know, I think I have to get a pic of it next to the Control Tower Dryer

Update !!!

I just installed a New Oven Element in the "Cute" Terrace Top.

I am thrilled to report that the Oven on it's first Warm up and cycling for temperature set at 350 was 50 degrees cool.

On the second firing when starting to make supper, It was right on the Money !!!  The Temperature Control was set on 350 and the Brand New Oven Thermometer was Exactly on 350. YAY for the 49 year old Terrace Top.

Next to see how it will Bake.
