New member here from Canada.., just recently sold my Samsung toploader and looking to replace with a front loader ... have narrowed it down to lg 3770 , Electrolux 627 or maybe Maytag 5500 . I have read everything on here any many review online until my head is realing ... need help to make a decision tomorrow ... any comments would greatly be appreciated

I have experience with the lg 3770, it’s a solid washer. The Maytag I believe is Whirlpool’s new alpha platform washer and I hear it’s good. Not very many of them showing up on the used market yet which is a good thing. They do/ did have an issue with their motor control boards.

I’m sure the Electrolux is a great performer, but I have a personal issue with Frigidaire in general. They either last a looooooong time or they are scrap in a few years. Usually the latter.

I agree with John about the Maytag.  I have a December 2011 Whirlpool Duet that is a cousin to the 5500 you're considering and I love it.  The one you are looking at is very flexible with warm, hot, extra hot, and steam options on most cycles except for delicate.  Usually with at least warm wash, you can select a deep clean with steam.  I tremendously appreciate the flexibility.  I don't believe in washing in cold water.  And my Duet tackles outrangeously horrible food, cooking stains that set for up to a month.

I looked into service ... no problem getting a tech to service lg ... although they said lg can be slow to approve service and or get parts.... but 10 times better then Samsung

I don’t think you’ll be disappointed in your decision to go with the Maytag Commerical TL. As I’ve mentioned in other threads here, I have a Maytag Centennial MVWC415EW. It replaced an LG 3170 over a year and a half ago and I’ve been very happy with it, not a single complaint or problem. From what I can see about the Maytag Commerical TL it is very similar to my Maytag. It wasn’t available when I bought mine in Dec. 2016, if it had been, I’d have purchased it, and if I ever have to replace my Centennial, I’d get the one you just bought.

I was very unhappy with the LG 3170. And I was always a fan of the FL format, as they used to be built. These new FL’s are too temperamental for me. I want a washing machine to be reliable, simple to use and requires no work arounds. I don’t want a multitude of cycles. The more options that are provided, the more electronics there are to break. Less is more for me.

Congratulations on your new machine!
