New GE Laundry Line

We saw these at the big show a month or so ago where they were demonstrating the new [ ridiculous Frigidaire TL washers ] I did not even mention these GEs as they are just more LG junk. These GEs are slightly bigger inside and outside, they are trying to compete with the extra big WP Cabiros.

Next thing you know they'll be selling a pressure washer wand and a set of clips like they have at the carwash for your floormats...

Not encouraging. I don't like the washplate. It looks quite shallow.

Interesting how they changed the design of the tub though.

I kind of like the control layout though, but it does look very LG'ish/Samsungish...

Kind of makes me wonder if they just rebadged a Korean washer..

Steam assist in a top-loader? I wonder how that works? It makes sense in a front-loader, where clothes saturated with water and a potent detergent solution tumble through the steam; but in a top-loader?

The consoles for these new wash plate/impeller machines are all starting to look the same. Appears as though they're all coming from the same source, as others have pointed out.

Gansky: How convenient that your Cabrio allows you to pull an entire wash load from the machine with one easy motion. I'll have to add that feature to my wish list along with spin-splode. The man in the photo looks like a proud fisherman showing off the biggest catch of the day, LOL.

Any "racket" as long as it is "green".

Seems reasonable its only $1052.10,  The simple truth, i feel sorry for households that believe they have bought something new and better,  when in reality the old ones they listed on "C'slist" will still be working when this thing is on the curb. alr

I wonder about that steam setting as well. Plus, wouldn't injecting steam into the relatively open tub of a top loader cause issues as the humidity will seep into to washer's cabinet? I suppose the steam is more of a glorified 'water heater: on' setting like on so many steam front loaders these days.

Bringing manufacturing jobs back to Apppliance Park?

Are these built in the US, or are they Korean made LG's? You could make a washer with a tub the size of a rain barrell, what good is it, if the machine doesn't use any water??

AHHHHHGGGG!

Why even make this.... um "Washer" The Hydrowave washers are big enough, What ever happened to the Harmony washer they had?

The picture of the whole load twisted together-reminds me of a Maytag Ad in one of my 1950's B&G magazines-"Whipped Wash" a picture in the ad shows a pile of tangled together clothes removed from a washer with that caption under the picture. For those days what washer could that have been that made the "Whipped Wash"?
