Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

they look nice machines, tbh after having lived with a Gorenje washer and dryer for a year i doubt i will buy another make when they eventually break down

There's nothing new here

They launched these at last years IFA.
They never launched the products here though, it did launch in various parts of the world.
I am not convinced the whites cycle will keep whites white, and remove ground in dirt, because of an extremely slow tumble? Or that cycle will take, what, 8hrs?

Stunning machines, loving the back to basics 70s styling.  Flexible machines but without looking like a rocket ship... now if only they did a slimdepth version ;-)

Launched into the UK...

I think the latest models to be launched HERE in the UK will prove market winners, its good to see definitive lines emerging like other companies, these are not available to everyone but are used for selective lines for different buying groups, such as primary accounts, independants etc....so we now have:

Classic - Simplicity - Primary - Essential - Exclusive - Premium - Advanced & now the "One" Series

Gorenje

Jon, yes a new One series slim line instead of the Oovahhh, I`ll go with that!!

Chris, me to, I think its a brand that has developed here with sound grounding, they have refused to sell their souls to the multiples (hope that stays, or at least selective lines)

Louis, I wonder why that is, I also really like the look of the new "One" series - simple but effective!!

Mat, the "Advanced" line was officially launched in June this year 2012 and the "One" series now...

Gorenje Aquisitions & Mergers

Louis I wonder if this news release will see a new line being produced and marketed in the Netherlands, saw this on the Gorenje news feed:

Shareholders vote to move production of Asko Laundry...Hhmmmm no more Swedish Asko!!

I wonder how long Maytag UK and ISE will be able to scource their machines.

Soz for the delayed response Mike - been busy busy busy, but anyway......

I LIKE THE NEW GORENJE's! Rather a lot as well.

Very nice and retro, with nice aluminium finishes, though for me maybe a nice chrome door a la Hotpoint Liberator style (if proud) or black fascia Creda style if flush, wold have been a nice finishing touch.
Door release button anyone? :-)

All the dryer would need after a chrome trimmed door, would be a porthole full of holes a la Creda drop down door style.

Perhaps I take retro too far, but yep - I like them.

When i saw the close up of the fascias, I thought 'have they seen the work of Oliver Hill?'
Get rid of that digital display! Timeline anyone?

With these Gorenje's and the new style Electrolux's I wonder if we are entering a new classic and retro design ethos and a move away from white plastic?

Speaking for myself - here is hoping:-)
Perhaps someone should tell Hotpoint about Amethyst door bowls!

"Ultra White" program

@ glenfieldmathk1

The Ultra White program is designed for washing white lingerie and delicate whites.
It has nothing to do with the standard program for whites that are stained or with ground in dirt.

I kind of gathered that Gorenje, but think it should be labelled Lingerie or delicates, not Ultra Whites. Ultra White is misleading, as most people will put in their whites, and expect them to come out white, when actually probably wont and stains would remain. Thats my Only criticism, I do like the design.

@matchboxpaul Hotpoint have already started to reintroduce Chrome doors to some machines here in the UK (Look for the 8KG, 10KG Ultima machines, and also a 9KG Ultima with 1400rpm). They call it stainless steel as opposed to Chrome, but its the same colour. They also introduced Anthracite door colour to some limited edition models. I feel the Future of Hotpoint will see the Chrome doors introduced to dryers too, now that the brand is simply being referred to as Hotpoint, and not Hotpoint-Ariston. After all the latest range build quality is exceptional.
Try other machines, Siemens have had Chrome door's for a long time time.

@chestermikeuk Lets not forget though: Classic - Simplicity - Exclusive - Premium lines are being withdrawn to make way for the new models. So they wont be selling all 8 ranges at the same time!

Hi Mat.
For me and it is purely my own taste, but I do feel there can be too much 'bling' on a machine. Have always felt that the likes of LG and Samsung are thus afflicted, with their BIG and thick rimmed metal doors.

Hows about a limited edition Amethyst modern Hotpoint? I'd consider buying one, if I had the room!

Roll on more tasteful retro.

Lines

Matt - please read what I said, the lines are not sold across all outlets, they are reserved for different retailing sectors, it takes years to transition lines, as a retailer thats how you get your "SPECIALS" and can offer your own exclusive deals...

AND you may be surprised by the Ultra Whites programmes, Servis offered there Multi fabric programme years ago in the 80`s, you could wash mixed fabrics and a long tumble / soak programme and when using a good bio powder like Ariel green then the results can be great...

Try soaking stained whites in a bucket overnight with the above, you`ll be surprised how much dirt simply floats away!!!

Happy washing,

the new Gorenjes look very nice, I'd take the top model obviously lol, the One models look smart without being over the top, which is what many people want, the brand has done a good job there, the older models are nearing a decade old, having been around since 2004! :)
