New Generation of Bosch/Siemens Dishwashers to be Released

Just discovered something on YouTube: B/S/H will be releasing a new series of dishwashers in a few days. New features include a detergent manager, a cutlery drawer and speedMatic.

We have a Siemens dishwasher with varioSpeed and it's a really cool feature; can cut the cycle time to less than one hour (usually about 80 minutes). With varioSpeed on, both spray arms wash simultaneously at high-pressure and the water level defaults to max. Pre-wash, wash, rinse and final rinse are all heated.

They have even a cutlery tray like the mieles! Seems to me that thos dishwashers are good designed and well build!

Wow both washer and dishwasher videos are quite impressive! That silverware tray kinda blew me away. I am wondering if Miele isnt too happy with them copycatting this feature...still I do love the design. Makes more sense to have it v shaped so deeper and larger items can fit in.
The other thing is I wonder if they are going to market those here in the States. If they did it would give alot of the heavy hitters here like Maytag and Whirlpool and GE a good run for the money.

Gott sei dank fuer Reklame auf Hochdeutsch und nicht auf Dialekt. Besser als Reklame auf Kölsch oder Bayrisch....mindestens war alles verstehbar.

Very impressive, but at $1500 they are not going to sell as many machines as they do now. Part of Bosch's dishwasher success in the USA was their inclusion of a medium priced line in the area of $600-900, which is competitive with KitchenAid.

Of course, there are less expensive US models by US companies, but either they don't clean well or else they clean well but are VERY noisy. A basic $500-600 entry level Bosch cleans well and is quiet.

There are a lot more people who will pay $700 for a dishwasher than those prepared to pay $1500. All of Miele's machines here generally cost $1000 or over, and they have not sold anywhere near as well as Bosch, which has become the first introduction to German appliances for many Americans (and mainly via the dishwashers rather than laundry or other kitchen appliances).

If it wouldn´t be that expensive, we would have sold our Bosch we have since December and would have purchased the SpeedMatic.

cutlery racks did not please me. Was the first thing I changed in my Miele. Too inconvenient.
At least for me. Clean great, tho'.
Auch wenn mir andere Dialekte besser gefallen, ja, Schriftdeutsch kann schön sein.

What I dont understand is why is the Miele and now the Siemens cutlery racks inconvient? With mine in my Miele it took about a week to get used to it. Now I wouldnt go back to a standard basket. Sure placing each piece in the slots can be a pain...I sort out my silverware in the sink and its the last rack I load so by the time the other 2 racks are loaded all thats left is the silverware. I group everything...forks spoons knives and by size. When it comes time to unload its a hell of alot faster than picking thru a standard basket and doing the sorting there when they go into the silverware drawer.

This is very interesting - can't wait to see the new models in person. I hope, there'll be some new parts I can use to upgrade our Siemens dishwasher (I'm thinking spray arms arms and such).

I've already looked at exploded views and what I don't quite understand is why B/S/H didn't employ a third spray arm for the drawer. Instead, there is a rotating nozzle.

In Baden-Wuerttemburg kann es auch viele Schwierigkeiten, den Dialekt zu verstehen. In Bayern, Muenchner Dialekt ist nicht so schwer, aber auf dem Land....unmöglich!

Gott sei Dank, ich bin nicht so dumm, als ich vorher glaubte! Wenn Lavamat sagt, dass der Schwäbische Dialekt unverstehbar ist, ist der Dialekt eigentlich schwer. Die Schwäbische Leute können wohl mich verstehen, wenn ich Hochdeutsch spreche, aber leider kann ich die Anworten nicht immer verstehen. Ich brauche ein Uebersetzer, der von Dialekt ins Hochdeutsch uebersetzen kann!! (no knowledge of English required!).

Zum letzten Mal in der Bundesrepublik wurde ich zeimal (in Köln sowie Muenchen) in Passkontrolle gefragt, "wann hast Du deine deutsche Buergerschaft ausgegeben?" Ich stand in der "nicht EU" Schlange, aber mein Familiename ist deutsch, und ich spreche deutsch (mit Ami-Akzent) fliessend. Ich erklärte, ich bin in USA geboren, meine Ururgrosseltern aus Ostpreussen waren die Immigranten (1868 aus Königsberg), und ich habe deutsch nur an Uni gelernt.

(Mein Pass sagt "Geburtsort: Kalifornien, USA" aber noch fragen die Passkontrollbeamte, ob ich deutsch bin). If they watched me peel a potato, they would KNOW I am American, I am unable to remove the peel in one continuous piece, so I fail the "are you German?" test.

Naja, ich kann diesen Dialekt selbst sehr gut sprechen und verstehen, aber ich hasse ihn dennoch..und eigentlich spreche ich nur Hochdeutsch..deswegen wird man dann immer wieder gefragt "Wo kommst du denn her" oder "Sprichst dú immer so?"
Aber ich versteh das mit dem Tomaten-Schäl Test ´nicht so recht.

Vor 20 Jahren war ich in Straubing an Donau. Die Tochteren meinen Freunden--sieben und funf Jahren alt---waren meine "Übersetzerinnen". Obwohl die Leute in Straubing mich verstehen konnten, die Mädchen mußten alle Antworten von Bayrisch ins Hochdeutsch "übersetzen". Natürlich sprachen so junge Mädchen kein Wort Englisch, aber ich brauchte nur jemand, der alles auf Hochdeutsch erklären konnte.

Während des esten Weltkriegs war es UNGESETZLICH in einigen Teilen USA deutsch offentlich (in der Straße, zB) zu sprechen. Aus diesem Grund haben viele Deutschamerikanische Familie die Muttersprache verloren. Meine Grosseltern konnten Deutsch verstehen, aber nicht wirklich sprechen. Mit einer Ausnahme: "Essen, essen" sowie "Iß, iß mein Kind." Ich hatte immer geglaubt, daß meine Familie ein Bißchen "crazy" gewesen ist. Aber nach meinem ersten Besuch in Deutschland (19 Jahren alt), lernte ich, daß die Verwandten ganz normal sind...jedenfalls normal für Deutschland!!

Kein Tomaten-Prüfung aber KARTOFFELN-Prüfung. All of my friends in Germany can peel a potato (not a tomato) by removing the peel or skin in one single piece. They seem to take pride it doing it this way!! Americans don't know how to do this, at least I do not know how.
