I just had to tell you guys that I am very impressed that Hotpoint have finally launched a new line of washing machines to the UK market that do not contain that awfull cold eco wash programme. OK some may disagree with me, but I don't like the idea of washing in cold water. I am glad that Cottons ECo has been replaced with Bed + Bath 60C, Synthetics Eco has been replaced with Shirts 40C on the 6KG Models, and Steam Refresh on the 8KG models.
It looks like they have launched 2 models, a 6KG Capacity & an 8KG Capacity - the 8KG one featuring steam.
I don't know everything about these as there is no Instruction manual available yet, though from the Photo on the Dixons website, I have made out that they look like the Aquarius + (3 button) Models, just minus the Eco wash, and branded as FUTURA (Which is what they are all branded as in Italy).
The 8KG has super silent motor (I presume the 6KG also has, as according the to the website, its the same noise level).

How did I find these:
I was looking through Comet Website, and saw the different model number, and picture coming soon. I typed in Google, and low and behold picture comes up, Dixons UK. I was very happy to see no Eco wash programmes.

The 8KG, and 6KG are available in 1100rpm, 1300rpm & 1500rpm models.

I will be emailing hotpoint to find out if the 6KG models have super silent motor.

Looks good, and I would be happy to buy one.

One thing I also notice - It has been awarded/approved by the British allergy foundation, as opposed Allergy UK - are they the same company?

It seems the programme choice is:
1. Anti Stain (40C)
2. Whites (60C)
3. Cottons standard (60C)
4. Cottons standard (40C)
5. Cottons standard (30C) - Maybe this is the Eco wash!!
7. Anti-Allergy (60C)
8. Baby (40C)
9. Bed + Bath (60C) [Steam Refresh on steam models - 8KG]
10. Fast wash 60' (60C)
11. Fast wash 30' (30C) - Could be 15' by the use of time saver - though not sure
12. Shirts (40C) [Bed + Bath 60C on the 8KG models with Steam]
13. Wool (40C)
14. Delicates (30C)
15 + 16 - Rinse Spin Pump

The Bad point: The Cottons programme I notice is a Standard Cotton 60C Programme - there is no mention of a 90C programme, though I am hoping (And will get confirmation by emailing hotpoint) that you choose 60C and repeatedly press the temperature button through 50, 40, 30, 20, cold, then 90, just like a selection of the older models - such as previous Aqualtis Machines?
They still haven't increased the temperature of the Baby wash. It is still 40C.
They still haven't replaced the Childlock button with what could be an extra option, such as Reduced Creases or "Goodnight"!

Hope you enjoy them, here's a link to Dixons. So far cannot find such models outside the UK. I think it would look good with my TVF770!

Indesit

Look to be launching machines with new simplified program layout and dedicated 20deg washes. Not on Indesit UK's website yet. Link shows partial facia view and new programs.

I do really like the new Hotpoint machines with the big portholes and chunky dials.

Yes This new range does look interesting.
I notice the programme layout is simpler on the Indesit, as they aren't all close together, and the 20 if that works good, then maybe all the Cold wash cycles will be replaced in future:)

I notice Indesit have also introduced a coloureds 40C wash according to that control panel, could this be the same one Hotpoint introduced as HD coloureds??

It does look like, from the Hotpoints launched, the end of Aquarius Brand??

One thing.....

.....I don't understand is why the new 6kg Hotpoint is £389.99 but the 6kg Aquarius, before sale price was £299.99. I know the new model is more energy efficient with an A+++ rating as opposed to the Aquarius A+ but £90 more for a machine that will only save you pennies a month and has a slightly slower spin speed seems a bit steep, unless there are features I have missed on the new model.

Ohh these are great :-)

I'd be pleased to have the 20 deg prog because you can't really use the eco cycles in the winter when the temperature really drops. I used mine when we had that really hot spell and I'd say the water was about 15 deg or more and the cycles worked really well!

It'd be better if they were like the elux eco cycle where it heats the temperature of the water if it drops too low.

I love the new indesit too!

I love this current range. From first hand experience I have had a machine from most ranges from hotpoint and indesit and this is by far the best.

Eco-Tech

At long last Indesit Company have come to their senses by getting rid of that 30 minute cold wash on certain new Hotpoint models i do hope that they are going to do the same thing with the Indesit Prime's

@paulc
I think the new 6KG (FUTURA) they call it is more expensive because unlike the Aquarius 6KG's this one has an LED Digital display, the Aquarius doesn't, and I think (Though still waiting from Hotpoint for confirmation) at (Magnetic) Super Silent wash motor (as opposed to brushes in the Aquarius). They are only A+ rated!
The 8KG ones however are really expensive compared to Aquarius+ Line, all you get extra is a Steam generator, and A+++, instead of A++.
Could be a sign they finally using better parts (??)

@newwave1
After watching the videos of your Hotpoint WMUD962P I too am very impressed by the new hotpoints wash action, much improved in speed and water levels also much improved compared to the old Indesit Models. I hope these new "FUTURA" Models follow the same or similar wash action/water levels.
I agree that a 20C cycle is better in colder months, though maybe an option to select cold in warmer periods could be a good idea.
I Hear the 20C cycle follows similar cleaning to that of the previous cold eco wash, just no increase in water. (See manual attached)

@optima
They still have the 30 minute wash, and I think, as like the Ultima's, if you press time saver you get a 15 minute wash. I am sure you can still set cold too, but now its 30C at least its more beneficial!! I haven't seen any Primes with this set up yet! They also haven't launched any Aqualtis Models with it.

Other noticeable things:
After looking all over - I finally found Hotpoint Poland, selling a revised model too (This one still has Eco washes, but has the improved 20C wash too).
Notable things are:
Cottons 60 - can be programmed to 90C by pressing temperature button.
Pre-wash Option added - can be used with most cycles, however It cannot be used with a Cottons 60 Wash. This seems very silly. This button introduction however, could mean here we see a return of Pre-wash (Maybe) soon.
I have included a link to the manual for everyone to view - it seems as mentioned above - the 20C cycle is very similar to previous eco washes - another thing I noticed, has the cottons Cycle duration been reduced from 3:15/3:00 to 2:40?

3 hour cotton cycle...

Though this registers on the display when you select the programme, the first 10 minutes are sensing while slowly agitating and adjusting the water level. It will then pause and show the wash time and begin the fast tumbles. I've loaded it full of towels on cotton 60 and the longest the cycle went was 2hours 40!

The anti stain however is a genuine 3 hour cycle! 2 hours on fast tumbling at 40deg!

Darren

Secondly the 20deg prog is described to be exactly the same as the eco cycles just with a guarenteed 20degree temp! I'd definitely use that.

It's much like the Indesit company cotton programmes of 2001-2003 with the powerstream washing which I love.

Darren

I've got to say i'm loving this new FUTURA range. As many have already said the cold eco washes weren't something i'd ever use as temperatures can be below 15oc with our climate.

Glad to hear it still uses the powersteam/ distribution wash system :) My old Hotpoint Aquarius WMA58 uses the powerstream wash system as Darren mentioned which is amazing. My aunt still has it in daily use and its around 9 years old now, bit battered tbh. It has a variable temperature selector which is very flexible from 95oc to 90oc going down in 10's to 20oc then to 'no heat'.

One question, does the Hotpoint Aquarius+ WMPF742K have a super silent motor? Its a 7kg model with 1400 spin.

Thank you all for the info :)

@dyson2drums
Yes Aquarius+ WMPF and WMPG (bigger display) Models have super silent wash motor. It is only the Aquarius models (Plus the selection of models with the old style) that have a standard motor! I am not sure if Futura has super silent or not, and I am still waiting for an email from Hotpoint for confirmation - I expect to get it tomorrow, but the Aquarius+ definatly does have one.

Wow, I'm very impressed with these new Hotpoints in terms of both design and quality. I'd go as far to say that I would now buy one of these new Futuras instead of my current Zanussi because the quality has improved so greatly. I was put off ever having another Indesit product again after my experience of my nana's Hotpoint (strange motor sounds, poorly made drum, dispenser drawer front not fitting dispenser properly) but I would probably give them another go. Just wish they wouldn't use the spinning dispenser design as that is very awkward to remove/clean.

no Finn, hotpoint called the fridges "future" and they still do, i have a hotpoint future under counter fridge, touchwood, its been fine for 8 years :)

Super Silent...

A Vast Majority of Aquarius+ Machines do have super silent brushes - One of which is the WMF940, One of the Best hotpoint machines I have seen since my WM64 was sent to the tip by someone in the house...

Thank you for clarifying that :)

My aunt wanted to know as the Hotpoint Aquarius WMA58 is playing up, it is getting louder on spin cycles and the door handle's spring has broke. I was going to replace it but she's wanting a black hotpoint washing machine to match the new kitchen once it packs up.

Thanks again :)
