New Hotpoint's Without Eco Wash Launched (FUTURA)

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

The Newest line of Aquarius+ does have super silent wash motor, this is Magnetic, its something they only introduced with the round doors, something which old Aquarius+ (WMF940) didn't have.
Yes there was Hotpoint Futura Ice Plus Fridge made before from Hotpoint.
They also used Future as opposed to the Italian word for other fridges.

Such a shame

Email just received from Hotpoint and they have confirmed, something I didn't want to know. And that's the 6KG new models WMFG651, WMFG631, WMFG611 do not have super silent motor, however I am told the wash is still quieter than older models, thanks to redesigning of the motor. He said the 1500rpm spin on the 6KG is 81db. Is that quite loud? (shame about this). They did say the 8KG models however do feature their super silent motor.

They apparently are exclusives to Comet, Curry's (inc. Dixons & Pixmania), John Lewis and Co-Op.

I did notice on the Comet website it said the 6kg machine is 81db on spin. Fairly noisy. I am sure I read somewhere Lg machines are about 71db on spin and Panasonic 74db.

Now, you may think and extra 10db isn't that much but an increase of 10db makes quite a difference , hubby was an engineer and did explain it to me but I can't for the life of me remember exactly what he said and he isn't home just now to ask him.

@paulc
I downloaded an APP and Placed it up on my WM31 (With the replaced motor - HEC) and got a reading of 70db washing, and 84db spinning.
So at 1500rpm it will be quite loud, but compared to the old ones, could actually be quite good.
According to the app (which wasn't free) a Whisper is 40db, quiet conversation is 50db - which means its pretty quiet washing, normal conversation is 60db, annoying is 70db, possible hearing damage 80db (so if it spins for a long period, could be quite bad!).

Cold wash

All manufacturers could solve the choice of temperature issue by simply putting a temperature option dial/button on every machine. At least that way if people wish to wash in cold water they can.....

The mere fact that most of us prefer warm to hot washes shouldn't prevent others from choosing what they prefer to use on a given cycle and I personally think non-adjustable, pre-programmed temperatures linked to a specific cycle is just ridiculous in this day and age.

It should be easy to adjust - twist a dial or push a single button up or down.

@ronhic

These machines do feature variable temperature though. They have a button below the display. You can choose Off (Cold), 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 90C.
Even the old ones, with Eco wash have a variable temp, just the Old ECO wash only allowed a selection of cold.

So they launched Hotpoint Futura, Hotpoint Style - what next

More models without Eco wash - BTW the Black photo is the wrong photo, and the supposedly 1550rpm model actually shows the 1350 model.
They must be more expensive because they don't feature the awful eco washes, or must be because they are made differently.

Cuddly Toys is a programme dedicated to toys, it is at medium heat and lasts around 3hrs ensuring that the toys are dry all the way through, including the filling.
Heat & Enjoys heats to 37C (Body Temp) and holds it there until you open the door, you could probably leave it going for up to 10hrs (maybe longer) if you wanted.

They aren't made up, the have been around for the past year now.

"Cuddly Toys"

It sounds like the "conveyor belt" on "The Generation Game":

"a set of heated rollers, a fondue set, a case of fine wines, a pair of matching picture frames, an electric drill, a cuddly toy..."

8KG Ultima on Comet £719.99

You've got to be joking surely
I don't think anyone would buy a Hotpoint 8KG at £720, or would they?
Has Indesit improved the build on this, so that £720 is an appropriate price, or is it just to con people's money?
Looking into the model number further, I can see its exactly the same as the 9KG models, just 8KG max load, instead 9KG, same drum size, same pretty much everything else. By looking at the model number, it could have a stainless steel door, but in White - like the 10Kg model however:
Even the 10KG Ultima is only £499.99 and that has the Titanium drum!

Could it be this model is improved some way in terms of programme choice - maybe lack of Eco wash cycles too, instead 20 wash?
