At that price, it will turn to dust before anyone pays that. It's not even a high end model. No wrinkle guard and only high/low temps. Was likely a $299 dryer back in 1985.

That dryer doesn't even have auto sense cycle. The top half of the cycle dial is essentially still a timed dry with simply easy to set setting for drying certain types of fabrics. Plus this dryer has a side-swing door.

Yes funny how that's the price of a new dryer, and a true moisture-sensing automatic to be exact...

Would be neat to see how the would-be automatsettings on there work...

As well as it seemingly going from high temperatures to low, or is the perm. press a medium temperature?

It’s actually toast in color so it’s very rare that alone should add several hundred dollars, lol

In any event, it’s an excellent dryer however I don’t think it’ll sell that fast but who knows.

LE5700XMF2, M = 1984 model-year.  Serial F44101308 = 1984, October.  "Large Capacity" dryer means standard size ... not compact, not extra-large.

The matching washer is like this.

At this point, it will probably need a new belt (stretched/cracked from age) and drum rollers (flat spotted). May need a new idler pulley if it was stored in a damp area (I see rust on the back panel).

Reminds me of how detailed Whirlpool instructions were and easy to follow.
You knew exactly what to expect from each cycle and how to properly do procedures outside of the cycles normal operations.

Just sitting for the past 39 years, it’ll need an overhaul since as mentioned, the belt is cracked, rollers have flat spots on them, rear panel has rust from sitting in a damp area.

It’s like finding a 1985 Ford LTD Crown Victoria that was driven for a couple hundred miles, then was parked for 39 years. Some people think they may be getting the deal of a lifetime but in reality, may not be a good deal after all since all the rubber hoses and seals as well as gaskets will probably be dry rotted from sitting for many years. Probably better to get one that has been driven, but everything in terms of maintenance and general items were replaced at the recommended intervals or replaced every so often to keep things in tip top shape. Sometimes, low mileage items can have more issues than something that’s ‘high mileage’ and taken care of.
