Clean Filter After Each Load?

I have cleaned my DishDrawer's filter plates TWICE in four years ... and I've certainly used it more than just twice in that time period!

Too bad our washers over here don't have filters you can clean by hand anymore.

No offense to Bob (Appnut) but....

Since I pre-rinse my dishes, I don't have any filter problems. However, I do clean the filter about once every month.

I wish more dishwashers had built-in food disposals though.

Macerators are noisy buggers, hence the quietness of European dishwashers as they dispense with food grinders. Suppose more or better sound proofing material would help, but designers choose to go another way.

It's the old Catch-22...if I had a food disposer, I wouldn't feel the need to rinse!! Someone help me break this vicious cycle!! LOL

..it was my poor, deprived childhood when I grew up with no dishwasher and no garbage disposal! I'm so used to making sure that there is nothing left on the plates that they are just about ready to reuse as is!! Where is Dr. Phil when I need him? LOL

Venus, Gasnky didn't prerinse when he had his Asko. He has told me he RARELY EVER found anything in the filter for that dishwasher and I know he puts ome erally disgusting things taht have been practically blow torched on.

Glenn, no disrespect, but the load(s) I did at your house at the wash-in, everything was wiped down so thoroughly before putting the the drawers, there wasn't hardly any food particles that I noticed. Just largely residue. Didn't get to just throw that rice pan & frijoles pan right in there.

On night while dealing with yet another sink full of dishes, ask MaMa why we didn't have a dishwasher. Reply came quickly, "I have a dishwasher. You!"

Moral of this story is oen should pay particular attention to sentence structure. Query should have been worded " why don't we have an AUTOMATIC dishwasher. *LOL*

Just as an aside, tried the same line on one of my grandmothers, especially since she was having her kitchen redone, the response was the same but a bit more expanded as she has a housefull of grand-children to put into service at any given time. The smart ones soon learned to get their food down and bolt from the table! *LOL*

john, it fits...

in the same area as a standard dishwasher.. and yes you can use them independently of each other... nothing special in installation but i was charges 208 dollars instead of 130 for installation.. they said it was its because its two dishwashers.that was ridiculous, but nevertheless had to pay.. im pleased so far..
