New Kenmore Lady Set.......

Suddenly, its 1959.........I found this set recently and its just an amazing washer and dryer. TOL Lady Kenmore's from 1959. All porcelain, dispenser, rapid advance timer on both washer and dryer.....lighted panels, lighted wash tub and dryer drum.....the list goes on and on. The dryer worked and just needed cleaned up. The washer was a disaster......It leaked in every possible place, and even in some impossible ones........ It has the first self cleaning lint filter feature, (which was totally plugged up). The pump was missing.....The motor was bad......etc etc. Here they are temporarily installed... I wanted to make sure they were done before moving them into my basement laundry room......

Washer Top, total programmed controls.....no "OFF" switch.....only a hold control.......

Hold control.........This switch can be set in any part of the cycle for a pause.......to add a forgotten piece or to "soak" the clothes........

The "self cleaning filter" has a recirculation system, with the water flowing thru this flum during agitation......

This model also has the "SudsMiser" option.......

To make things even MORE complicated!....it has an automatic fabric softener dispenser in the console panel........with a red "warning" low fluid indicator light!

The top chrome panel unhooks and is on hinges.......to access the fabric softener dispenser and to refill it........

Unusual to find in a washer, but they were used from time to time, is a tub OZONE bulb.......hummm kind of a dangerous place to put it....dont you think?
