OMG!!!

I'm in Lincoln UK too... and 17!!! There's also another member here, Kirk, who lives in Lincoln too!

This is getting strange!!! And I was thinking Lincoln was a small unheard of town LOL

Welcome to the club!!

Jon :-)

Lincoln, The Hotbed Of Washer Fanatics!

What are the odds of that happening, having three people from the same city join this site?
Welcome to this site, Darren. You will enjoy the lively discussions we have here.

Whirlcool,

Must be something in the water (apart from the awful limescale we get round here...) :-).

Thing is, Lincoln's barely even a city... and it's more or less in the middle of nowhere! This always makes me wonder whether fate really does exist...

Jon :-)

Hey Jon!,Pat,agiflow & Whirlcool!

thanks for the welcome! i have to agree its a little odd that there would be 3 of us washer fanatics in a place like lincoln lol! Pat: i like ur U.S toploaders. i was looking at the new maytag neptune toploader on the website last night i thought that was pretty cool.what do you guys think to it? i'm a big fan of my frontloaders being a brit.i know this is a modern appliance area but i'll share my vintage hoover frontloader for all to see!

Darren

Heigh-ho, Newwave1

I agree with Louis - looks like we will soon be seeing postings for our first overseas wash-in. Lincoln's not gonna know what hit it...

Welcome to the club Darren! I'm with Chris--you & Jon will end up having a wash-in soon!!

Love the square door Hoover...that has to be the best-looking UK front-loader design, IMHO.

Darren

Definitely gonna hold a Lincoln wash-in this summer with you Darren, and Kirk too! Should be great fun :-).

Darren - you already know but I love your Logic! LOL. Can't wait to use it!

Austin - we had a Hoover frontloader when I was a kid (as you probable knew) - you would just love the sounds they make! Very very very solid machines :-)

Take care all,

Happy washing!!

Jon :-)

Hey agiflow!
nah these weren't the last.. the New wave range were the last(i've attached a pic) & on par favourite of mine along with the logics. they stopped production in about 97 i think. much to my dismay.

I bought a new hoover last month which was actually a good machine! but nothin like the older ones...

my logic is fantasticly built! when i got it off ebay i was expecting it to be not as good condition wise as it looked in the pics & havin expected to do alot of work...i hooked it up,ran a load through it & to my shock it was perfect!!
i couldnt belive it..but now its been stored for a bit as i dont really have a choice it seems to be in need of a bit of treament. gonna replace the motor for definate. pumps a bit noisey, but other than that i love it! i the high water levels are fantastic! i hate modern frontloaders for their lack of water. except for Aeg which i can override :)

Darren

Darren,

Was it 1997 when the New Wave stopped production? 'Cos I'm pretty sure that they were still going til the Quattro/Performa ranges were introduced in late 98/early 99... All the same the New Waves were indeed great machines weren't they! Definitely gave the Hotpoint Ultima a run for it's money (and IMO was far far better).

I still fondly remember our first Hoover dishwasher, which matched your Hoover Logic!

Oooh, BTW you can also override Miele's too in terms of the water level :-p. Wish the manufacturers would realise deep rinsing is better! Although my AEG does fill about 2 inches up the door as standard in the normal rinses, but it's still not halfway up the window :-). Efficiency schmicciency... when will washer makers realise that 70% of the world is covered in water!! LOL.

Take care,

Jon :-)

hey all!
reattempt to post the pic i said i would post..i was rushing this mornin & it didnt work..d'oh! jon!:) the new waves stopped late 97/98...when the quattros were introduced..i certainly felt the design had a big candy feel to it..on the basic stuff..they tried to keep the hoover door trim like the new waves by modifyin it..i quite liked that..i'd loved to have seen what direction they'd have gone with the range if they hadnt been taken over...bein such an innovotive company..first to introduce spin speeds up to 1300 in this country at least.
when will manufacturers just forget cost & go back to quality machines with high water levels...i dispair i really do..half the people that come into my shop say there not bothered about the intakes as long as it does it properly! stoopid ppl with there money minds...tut...anywhoo..jon i really look forward to seein that miele! not just in pictures!!

Hey Darren,

Thanks for the picture. Very British, a washer under the kitchen counter!

The Hoover Keymatic lacks some parts so it's not running, although the motor works and I can let it spin. I'm not a very technical guy so repairing it is a job that is too big for me and I certainly don't want to start repairing on this machine. Perhaps in the future.

I like having my washers in the bathroom, especially since there is a drain in the floor so it's OK when an accident with water happens. I hope you can find some kind of solution to hook your Hoover up in the bathroom.

Louis

Hey Louis..
lol i have to say my aeg washer is under a counter lol. i would like it freestanding. & the hoover in my bathroom...i've thought of an idea of wot to do about gettin it in there..weather its a good one or not is another thing lol. did the keymatic ever work when you first got it? i hear those were so awkward to repair on & required the pulsator in them to be greased alot!? is this true? do you have a washer in the bathroom? one of your many..i'm not jealous *honest!* teehee. i've decided to share the logic with you one more time. different picture angle! these pics were took by the guy i bought it off! this aint at my house..i'd have a much better floor tiles lol

Darren,

I bought the Keymatic this way. The previous owner told me that he had used it and then put it in storage. I think NOT, with a hose missing under the drum! The Keymatic is indeed hard to repair, albeit that the one I have (from the second series) is not as hard to repair as those of the first series.

Yes, if you saw my photo album, you saw my Miele set and my AEG set. Those pictures were taken in my bathroom. Besides those two sets there is also a small AEG Lavamat 220 (small toploader). So there are three washers and two dryers in my bathroom.

Louis

Louis.
Well now i'm jealous! & shame on the guy you bought the keymatic off for lyin to ya! naughty! lol. so u've never been able to use it properly? like through a cycle? always wondered if they used a fair bit of water or not. do you know the spin speed of it? i did find this out but i'm having a blonde moment! lol.
