Hi all,
hope everyone is well and had great Christmas's.
As you may recall (although I haven't written on here for a while) I've got a Miele W1 Twin Dos XL 1600rpm washer here for home, that I've, and have never ever looked back on the day that I bought it. Worth every penny.
This thread isn't about that machine though. We've got another apartment here that we rent out, and have needed to get a washer dryer that is going to be reliable and durable - isn't attraction was to Miele, although the price point of over £2000 ($2610) is a bit of a turn off. However, we visited the Miele Factory Outlet in Oxford, and found a Washer Dryer there - well actually they had several - for £945, with a 5 year guarantee - it was an absolute no brainer, being half price, so we have bought it, and it was delivered on January 1st. If you're able to, the outlet has some incredible deals - absolutely worth a visit or check their website out.
It is the WTH120 with Power Wash 2.0 and Twin Dos, steam care, 1600 RPM - so basically every feature Miele have PLUS drying capability.
I want the machine to be robust enough to last and stand up to abuse that people who perhaps don't appreciate appliances as much as me (or us) will throw at it - and the 5 yr guarantee was also a seller.
I have installed it, and wow was it heavy - almost 100kg's, and ran the calibration cycle, which took just under two hours.
Initial observations are that it is, as you'd expect, built like a tank. I LOVE the power wash cycles (something my Miele at home doesn't have), the Power Wash and Dry cycle is great - it actually drys well for a washer dryer, and all the options you can select.
The metal plate on the back of the door which is used for sensing humidity levels in the machine is another Miele first - as is the "thermo spin" - the machine spins at different high speeds with the drying fan on to break the bond between the water and the clothes to being with.
I'm a bit sad actually I'll never get to use it really - the test loads were all I got to do!
