Well, since Love is in the air, it seemed an appropriate time to start a new picture thread, this time featuring our "Better Halves".
Those who watched Decorating Cents got to see Neil. And we've gotten to see the lovely Brianne, but so far we've only heard about Dennis, f'rinstance.
So come on boys and girls. Make with the pictures.
For those of us who don't have a Better Half at the moment (and I'm living proof that it can still happen!), go ahead and post your own picture. Especially those who were too chicken the last time around!
Yes--I'm talking to YOU!

OK, I'll Start

This is me and my wife Ronda. We are on a vintage train car riding around Nashville. We took the kids to see "Thomas the Tank Engine" and Thomas was pulling vintage cars on rides.

Only heard of Dennis?

Now you get to see him!
This was 9-1-01 (our 10th anniversary).
We celebrated on the island of Kaua'i with our friends Martha and Mark. Thats when we knew we HAD to move to Hawai'i!

Sure wish I had remembered to take my glasses off (oh well!)

Just me for the moment. This picture was taken when I was in California in January. I *rarely* like pictures of myself, but this one is ok, and it's nice to have one that I'm comfortable posting.

VINTAGE TRAIN!

Is that the Tennesee Valley Railroad you're riding on? Was Thomas actually pulling the train or was there an engine in back pushing?

The Thomas that works (steam engine) is owned by the Strasbourg RR in Pennsylvania. They also do vintage steam train rides.

Trains are my other fancy, besides roller coasters and washers.

Yes, it was the Tennessee Valley Railroad. We had a really good time despite the fact that is was raining.

You are a rollercoaster fan? Me too. I'm on a diet (48 pounds so far), when I get below 200 lbs I have promised myself a pilgrimage to Mecca(Cedar Point).

Ronda is a great person, and I have to agree with you, she's cute too ;-) Your Bri is a cute as she can be.

Jackson

BTW

It was a fake Thomas with an engine pushing from the rear, but the kids didn't know that.

Here's my kids, Corbin and Margaret. I've posted a pic of my son before. He likes vacuums and dishwashers. There is a thread called "We all started young" with a pic of me and him vacuuming. He also likes to start the dishwasher.

Jax, I've got a caption for the photo of the kids. Corbin-"I'm so stressed. I wish Dad was gonna vacuum this afternoon. And he accidentally started the dishwasher without me. This stinks!!". Margaret-"Oh good grief, my silly brother again pouting about not having the dishwasher run more and vacuuming the house 5 times a day. I knew I should have prayed for a baby sister".

Mecca

Jackson, we need to talk. Now I know the draw of Cedar Point, the temptation, the huge glistening rails of steel knows as Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster are calling your name, as they have been calling my name for quite some time now.

But before you go and indulge yourself in the largest theme park in the world, might I suggest you pay a visit to a small park in Pennsylvania named Knoebels. It's MY favorite park (as well as lots of other coaster enthusiasts). They have more rides running from the 40s and 50s than any other park I know of. They also have my #1 coaster, the Phoenix. They also have two mini train rides. One's a propane powered and the other is a tiny steam engine. It chugs just like a big train. Not to mention the Carousels, the campground, the beautiful scenery, the FRIENDLY employees (try to find that at a Six Flags).

Well, CP is a great park but try Knoebels. You'll be glad you did. Bri and I are going next month if I move up there quick enough. Yes, I'll be doin alot of wheelchair pushin' at the parks :-D

Jason- Dorney Park is about an hour from Knoebels also. Bri would love Hershey Park too! Dorney is another old park, although Knoebels does have alot of old stuff running. PA is chock full of amusement parks & trains!

For those who wondered--

My picture is finally here at Applianceville!

It is in the Radarange thread of my dear Veg.

(I think we're a fine looking pair.) (of what?)

Jax--Margaret looks like her mom!!

Love and laughter,

Lawrence/Maytagbear

PA parks

PA is like going to heaven if you love old Amusement Parks. I've been to Kennywood, Dorney, Knoebels, Conneaut, and Hershey. There's more smaller parks in there I haven't visited yet.

Besides the Strasburg, what other trains are there to ride? I also want to visit Mach Chunk and go in the Pioneer Tunnel. Bri might be scared of that one because it's dark but I'll go :=)

Wouldn't it be a dream if the old Switchback Gravity RR was rebuilt? WOOHOO!
