Has anyone on here tried the new "Original" scent? It is HORRID!!!! I used it the other day to clean the cat litter boxes and I thought I would puke. I even had to get my ozone generator to kill the smell. So I ordered 3 gallons off of Ebay. What do you think?? Thanks, Bill. Ps, The Ebay order was the REAL stuff.

I don't mind the smell of the regular Pin Sol so long as it's not overdone which I think some people do use too much..
I was fearing they might give it the new scent of Febreeze or Gain.. two smells I can't stand.

btw how can it be "new" and "original" at the same time ?

I've been using ...

... a lot more "natural" (vinegar-based) cleaners lately. But last week I was in a bind and reached for some all-purpose spray at the grocery store. It was "Method", which I figured was a cut above the more pedestrian "Fantastic".

O M G.

The stuff was so powerful it gave me a killer headache. I cleaned my stovetop with it and the smell lingered for days; just walking into the kitchen made my stomach turn.

When you're away from the chemical stuff and you come back to it and it has this effect, it makes you wonder what other toxins in our environment have we simply become "used" to??

I have asthma and can't stand strong smells, they can give me bad asthma attacks. Not only regular cleaners can cause that but also some of the natural cleaners have horrible scents. Strong vinegar or strong lemon scents for instance are a horror. Nowadays it's hard to find cleaners without a strong smell. Everything needs to smel strong nowadays. As if your house is only clean when the scent is overwhelming!

Scents & Marketing

I think the strong scents are what sells - remember that the original Febreeze was intended to mask scents and it didn't tell because it didn't have it's "own" scent. One of my friends used to work for SC Johnson and I heard stories about how they researched preferred scents, really quite interesting, but from my understanding of it, the strong scents or one kind or another are hear to stay (for the record, one of the Method scents, "Pear & Ginger" or something, is equally awful).
