cuffs054: If you're suggesting I alter the machine to make it alternate between racks in order to cut down on some noise...the answer is definitely no for a number of reasons, beginning (and probably ending) with my complete lack of desire to ever look under the hood or tamper with anything therein, LOL.

It is what it is and what it's doing is working. Even cookware came out clean using the 1-hour cycle. I'll learn to live with it.

John: It's crazy how small the motor/pump systems on these new machines are. 60 watts! No wonder they can run 3 hours and still use less electricity than a vintage dishwasher. Of course, most of the third hour was dry time in the GE I had.

You probably don't need a big pump when you only have 3 drops of water to work with. LOL

Fun seeing the Funeral Hotdish recipe. I don't think I've ever encountered that recipe, but it reminds me so much of the recipes one small town grandmother made--casseroles with hamburger, canned soup, and--for an exotic foreign touch--maybe chow mein noodles... I can imagine her making this recipe, but she'd have used canned vegetables. She always--always--used canned vegetables, at least as far as I can recall.
