Meet Pip our new Australian Shepherd puppy. I got him a few days ago. We had to put down old Parker in September, he was 14 and ailing, and so I decided on getting another dog to keep Ben company. Thing is that now it doesn't seem like Ben is too impressed LOL He's being harassed by Pip in much the same manner as he used to harass Parker 4 years ago when he was a pup. What goes around comes around I guess.
Here's Pip helping with the leaves on the deck

Very cute dog Pete! Where did you get him from? I had to put down one of my cats in May and then in Aug. I got a cat from the Humane Society. My other cat is very very affectionate and she was getting lonely not having another cat in the house even though we do have a dog also.

Pip is so cute! We had an Australian Shepherd/Terrier mix when I as a kid and he was the cutest little guy. Pip looks like a very entertaining addition to your family!

Very cute pup and these are some of the smartest dogs ever! I had a co worker once that had one. When they were done playing in the yard, he would just tell the dog "ok, time to clean up" and he would go around the yard and get all of his toys and put them in a basket by the door. Awesome dog, hope you have many happy years with him. I want one now!

Gary I got him from a breeder not too far from here. They do stock dog trials all over Canada and he's got pretty good lineage. I may take him out for a try in a couple of months for some training. I had started that with Ben back in Alberta and also on agility but when we moved all that went bye the bye, for now anyways.

7 puppies living in that cage with merely a pittance of straw thrown down? Gee, could the breeder afford it?

Not to take away from Pip's cuteness (nor that of the one in the back of the photo with the pie-wedge coloring around the left eye!!!), but I could never buy from a breeder. Not when there are so many animals in shelters deserving of much better lives.

Again, I agree Pip's cute as hell! It's not his fault he came from a breeder.

Those pups are well tended. They have all their shots, all microchipped, inpsected top to bottom and eating premium puppy food. I was shocked when I went to buy a bag of it. Besides my sister and the vet she works for are good friends of theirs so rest assured this isn't a puppy mill or my sister wouldn't recommend them and also they wouldn't have sold me one. They're all bred as working dogs for farm or rescue or agility type stuff and not sold to people looking for an Aussie just to have an Aussie. Don't be deceived by that picture, they have access to a huge outside area and other parts, that is when they're not in the house which itself is a doggy heaven. They're all spoiled.
However I also agree with you on the maybe buying from a shelter etc.. We have had shelter dogs, two, in fact my beloved Parker who just passed on (my favorite dog of all) was an abused rescue I got when he was 6 y.o. He magically turned up within a week of the passing of my previous dog. This time on his passing that didn't happen even though I've been looking at shelters and Petfinder for over a month now.

Pete, Congratulations!! Pip is so cute and I know that he will be a lot of fun to have around, there will never be a dull moment. Looks like maybe you have a few leaves there!!

Awww look at that sweetie...!

~Again, I agree Pip's cute as hell! It's not his fault he came from a breeder.

We all (still)come (mostly) from breeders. Sad fact of life.
