Hello All:
I picked up the "new" Amana Radarange RR-4D this week, and found - to my chagrin - that it has a problem.
The white plastic inner part of the door, which is composed of two pieces bonded together, has separated. I did not think it had, but sadly, it is separated.
The good news is, the separation is clean, along the original joint, not a break. Which means a good adhesive should restore it to full function and appearance.
The bad news is, the plastic appears to be one of the polyolefins, notoriously difficult to glue. Not even the superglues touted for plastics usually work well on this family of plastics.
Does anyone have any idea what to use? Again, I already know that superglues Will. Not. Work., so I'm looking for something else that will. Amana glued it with something - something that worked for several decades - so it should be possible to re-bond it if only the right adhesive can be found.
Thanks in advance....
