Here are some picts of the fridge I picked up this weekend at a thrift store for $35! It works great and will be used as our daily driver when we unstainless steel our kitchen. I will be posting pictures of that project when it gets started in a month or so. There is a dial thing behind the kick panel does anyone know what its for when you turn it the fridge turns off?

Suggestion:

Your new fridge's finish would benefit enormously from a car product called TR3 Resin Glaze. It's at most good auto parts stores, somewhere in the car wax section.

It removes oxidation and light surface rust and leaves a really nice gleam. It takes a bit of elbow grease, but the results are pretty miraculous. In addition to the polishing and waxing properties, it enrichens the color just a bit - your yellow will "pop" a bit more.

I don't know where in Atlanta you are, but somewhere near you should be an auto parts store that carries the stuff. I used to get it at the Pep Boys on Cobb Parkway.

Nice firdge!

My grandparents had a similar GE like it in white, with the ice maker. The only thing I am aware of that was ever replaced on it was the defrost timer that I did for them when I was a young man.

I want to try that cleaner Sandy recommended--sounds like just the ticket.

Good luck!
