hey folks. i thought that i would make a little video for you guys of a 60degree cotton wash in my hoover. there was abit of drama at first when the machine cut out. i just needed to replace the fuse in the exention lead im using! excuse my northern squeek of a voice but i thought i'd try my hand at commentary over these vids. i didnt get to fit the final rinse and spin in because my memory card was full. but i will do if people want me to.

Darren, that was a great video.

I really wanted my mum to get one of these in the 80s but it was a bit expensive so she got a Hotpoint 1000, which was our 2nd choice.

It would be great to see some more.

I can't BELIEVE that was Fairy Non bio, IMO the most difficult rinser. Powder? Tabs? The second rinse was as clear as I get with only one Persil tab in the Zanussi. I forgot just how deep those Logic rinses were.

And yes, bring back drain/distribute.

How did you get the logic working in the end - wasn't there a motor problem at one point?

Rob-I think it was a similar case in our household, we ended up with a 9534 1000rpm hotpoint when i was about 4. I remember gettin it brand new and pullin the dial out on number 4 I always always wanted a hoover though. I used to sit endlessly around a family friends watchin their electron washer/dryer instead.

I was amazed at how well rinsed that load was! I used 100ml of that fairy liquid!

IMO the ariel liquitabs are the evilest things to rinse out! I've one left my box that i refuse to touch lol! I remember doing towels in the newwave using them and things came out asthough they'd just been spun after the wash! it felt ming!

Last week i experimented with 2 fairy tabs in a colour load in the logic, Another problomatic detergent the newwave struggled with. Tho logic did a grand job of rinsing out fairytabs.

It was scarey to see how much sudsy water came out the hose on an interm spin. glad that wasnt left in my clothes!

I find the best detergent that rinses out amazingly in my logic is persil non-bio! i love how thoroughly rinsed things feel. saying that i'd be worried if after 3 of those rinses and a 1300rpm spin if they didnt lol

As for the fault. I call it the reoccuring phantom. The machine was left reduntant for 2months while i tried to think what the problem could be and/or if i was goin to sell it on. I decided to turn it on one day to my amazement it worked perfectly. Then i ran aload through,again, it was perfect. so fingers crossed.......

Ah, My first automatic machine !

What a trip down memory lane -

I still remember the day I got home from school to find it there boxed in the lounge. I loved it ! It was a few days later that I sud locked it with Morning fresh washing up liquid and run to my grans for safety !!!! Thought I had broken it.

It lasted well, much longer than any other machine we have had. I also liked the 'almond / beige ' colour. Also by sticking a knife into the door catch you were able to add that forgotten sock !!

Wow, Just Wow!!!. That is so amazing, Darren. These videos was totally great. I wish i had one Logic too. Unfortenly these was not very popular here in Sweden.

Your commentaries are also really great.

By the way, i was going to give you a advice. To use Youtube instead of putfile. I saw your latest videos was on youtube so i guess you also saw that youtube is the best.

Cool that the Logic uses alot of water. That makes the rinses very special. Our Whirlpool at work used alot of water when it was faulty.

About newwave/Logic rinses. You said the Newwave had problems with certains detergent while Logic has not. It could be because the Logic uses more water, has better pump, doesnt spin in wash or something like that. Just a though i had.

very kind! i think the other issue with my newwave aside from lower water levels was that it never span 1300rpm in the whole time i owned it. it had a module fault i believe and would only spin at 800rpm!

if i could change anything about my logic it would be to make it spin faster between the rinses, then it truely would be the best rinser in the history of the world....lol.

That is just a beautiful machine. The square door and round window remind me of some of the models of the EASY Combomatic a few years before production ended. Thanks for the picture and videos.

I, to think that good spins really help rinsing. My W1986 spins at 1000 rpm after wash and after each rinse then 1200 for the final spin. Of course, after each rinse fill, I open the dispenser drawer, poke the auxillary fill hose in and turn on the tap to bring the water about 1/3 up on the window. As long as I don't use a liquid HE, there are hardly any bubbles by the second rinse.
