MaytAskoISE

Great machines, the MaytAskos are about to be put back in full service after the V-Zug holiday!!! I personally believe that the prices of said machines, that the MaytAskoISE offer great value for money for what they offer and how they are made...

Interesting how these guys use them and also lots of commercial firms like Primus and Lux Wascator!!!

Price

So ISE white 1600 for £849, plus £51 delivery or Maytag stainless 1600 for about £800 - what's difference?

I see that GE are marketing washers over here now - any ideas what they are like? Any top-loaders?!?

The difference is the maytag will prob take 2 and a bit hours to do a 40C wash whereas the ISE will do it in about an hour.

The engineers who designed the machine have all worked in repairs so they know what fails first of all etc and they optimise the parts/programs to get the best out of the machine.

The machine is designed without the price mark up on parts unlike maytag/asko.

This is an interesting read...

You also have a 10yr warranty.

The ISE10 1606 which looks identical to http://and-thekitchensink.co.uk/prod_show.asp?id=1209&ref=froogle&prodid=1209 is very different underneath in terms of parts and programming.

There is a new version of the ISE10 coming out the 1607... can be viewed here... http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/New+Appliances/ISE+Appliances/1607W+ISE10+Washing+Machine.html also built by asko.

Great machines, I actually like the look of the new ISE, simple but sophisticated at the same time. Less fussy than a lot of other TOL machines nowadays too, just your basic programmes but probably one of the more flexible machines out there.

Rich - you are semi right, the Maytag and ISE have identical programmes, Mike will know more than me but you can do a 40 degree programme in an hour, they're just named differently from what I can gather. Either way, the ISE seems a bit better value with the 10 year parts warranty. The lesser mark up on parts sounds promising too.

If/when my Miele kicks the bucket (hopefully wont be for a while yet!) I'll seriously consider an Asko built machine, got to use Mike's and loved it. 80 deg wash in just over an hour - we had the breakfast tablecloth and napkins boiled and dry by lunchtime if I remember right :).

My friend used to have the same maytag as the one in Mikes picture above. He now has the new version (to match his other stainless steel appliances) which looks identical to the ISE10 1606, I can verify that this takes about 2 hours to complete a 60C cotton wash as I was round there last week. The version he had before (mikes picture) probably washed in less time but wont have been as energy efficient.

ISE claim that there are differences in programming (last years model) when compared to the same looking maytag/asko

I asked "Can you tell me if there is any difference between the ISE 10 washing machine and the identical looking Maytag?
Thanks"

This was the reply from one of the engineers/designers who is part of ISE

The following thread is worth a read really: ISE state the package benefits of there machine are:

Top spec product
10 years comprehensive service guarantee
Local delivery
Local installation service
Local and rapid after sales service
Website support
Cheap repairs costs out of warranty
User advice on-line

You will see I challenged them about the claim of them bothing being A rated for energy etc but the ISE did it in half the time.

They didnt give me any answer as to how they achieved this.

Maytag

Richard, interesting post, the difference as I see it is the Local aspect of delivery, service Guarantee & Out of Guarantee repair costs...

All other related products use contracted out service, but being brought in house by dedicated servicemen since company re-aligning..

From the specs I`ve seen I will be very surprised if Asko badged an ISE machine with more features than their own...in fact its often less for own brand - even programming...

The range of main supplier machines offer complete flexibility of programming and you can programme a Maytasko to complete a cotton quick wash, 95d temp, with three rinses in 42mins.

Like wise you can extend the wash programme with heavy duty pre-wash & main wash for and sensitive rinse option of 7 rinses which will take nearly 3 hours...they are very flexible machines....and as I stated above, pricewise a force to be reckoned with as a contender to top of the line machines..

Likwise, please be careful about posting links directly to a forum without clearence, interestingly if I was giving answers to forum members about a superb washing machine I certainly wouldnt have made the analogy about baked beans...LOl

Hi Mike

I dont think it has any more features I think they have done away with many of the programes that would be on the maytag, not sure could do with getting a manual of the two to compare against.

Hilarious

The forum thread is hilarious - obviously the defensive response of someone with a vested interest in the ISE brand, and let's be frank ISE is just another 'brand' and not an 'ethos' no matter how 'thinking of you the customer' they purport to be. With the exception of the 10 year cover I can't see anything different between the machines in spite of the assurance of lots of special internal features that remain totally unidentified. This is transparent marketeer tactics - claiming special features and differences without actually giving concrete detail, and best of luck to ISE with this approach, though I think savvy customers will see through it for what it is. It certainly puts me off them - I never trust anyone who so blatantly knocks the competition. Perhaps we might ask whether the Primus version of the same machine is better than the ISE or Maytag?

Has anyone considered sending the ukwhitegoods thread to Maytag? Has ISE tangible and more importantly publishable proof that their washer and their service is better than Maytag/Whirlpools?

D

I do tend to agree with you liberator.

I would say that with the repair serivce and 10yr warranty that is a good selling poitn though but they shouldnt dress it up to be something its not.

Maytag / Whirlpool / Asko / ISE

Dont forget it will probably be Gorenje who will hold the key in the future...wonder how it will all pan out then!!!

The Primus and wascator badged machines I have seen just look like mine inside and programming was similar, with less programme overrides...

Like I`ve been saying, worth considering given what everything is coming to , made in china, sealed tubs and pumps louder than wash motors....

Anyway I`m over them all now, Miele, V-Zug Maytasko..... its Fagor for me from now on!!! buts thats one for another thread...LOl
