New Whirlpool Duet

Hello. I am deaf.

Umm..which is the door? (handle door or electronic button door or automatic door)

Is that spin about 1,200 rpm same as Kenmore Duet 4 or 5?

Peter (kenmorepeter5a) ;-) (my friend)

I had a Duet set for about 5 years. They're great machines. The washer cleans really well and spins the hell outta the clothes. The dryer was quiet.

My only complaint was that they are huge machines -- meaning they take up a lot of room. My laundry space wasn't big enough. I found someone who needed a new W&D, so I sold them. The new owners are happy with them.

Which is the country - USA or Foreign?

I don't have seen at the locator store of the New Whirlpool Duet (model WSW9400S)

Kenmorepeter5ab, it is built in Groningen, I believe, a city and province in NE Netherlands by a firm named Bauchnekt or something like that. Louis and others will know the correct spelling, but Louis does not think that the factory turns out top notch washers. The matching dryers are Whirlpools made in the USA.

What a waste of space....

....and money on the fascia board!
Cycle signal I could cope with, at a push. But Button Sound??????? These manufacturers need their head examined!
Like the sound of the "Diamond Dust" colour though....!

Bauknecht

Is the proper spelling, but a pile of horse...feathers by any other name is still...well, don't want the PC folks breathing down my neck again.
If these machines are really made in that factory, then I would not touch one for all the tea in China.
Whirlcool, maybe some US FLs are "dumbed down" but I can't think of a single, solitary FL sold here in Europe which does not offer separate rinse & spin, respectively spin only cycles.
I liked the styling on the old Duets, I like this styling, too. But I'd rather have a "boring" Miele which will be working reliably and never seen a service-person years after these and their replacements and those machines' replacements have bit the dust.
Whirlpool could build good stuff - there are some vintage machines discussed in this forum which are still running after decades of hard use. But the current company's philosophy just rubs me the wrong way. I work for my money. Why should I give give it to them for junk when for just a few bucks more I can have machines that actually are built to last?
