New Whirlpool Dishwasher

I recently did a thread on my 7 year Whirlpool DU1055XTSB1 which sounded like it was breaking down and not draining. Well she finally went home to meet the scrape yard.

We purchased a Whirlpool WDF750SAYB3 with a stainless steel interior. It runs for 1:45 minutes on the sensor cycle with hi-temp wash selected. The booklet says the reason for the long run time is the low wattage motor they now use. It is so quiet!!! It has the removable filters you can take out and clean.

It washes the bottom rack first then switches and washes the top rack. It does this all the way thru the cycle. I feel the reason they do this is because it uses so little water to use both spray arms at the same time.

So far it cleans very well!!! I'll check back in a month or so to update how it is working and if it is still quiet. My brother has the same DW. His has been installed for about 3 months. He says it works as good as it did the day he put it in.

We'll see for the long haul!!!

Congratulations on your new Whirlpool! You should get reliable service from it.

Some people are bothered by the alternate-rack washing system, but I don't mind it a bit. I find I don't have to clean the filters on my new GE very often at all. The fine mesh one (which is usually a cylindrical filter you lift out) is the one that needs the most attention. A quick rinse under the faucet is all it takes.

Here's a photo of the interior of the dishwasher. Do you see an item that is loaded incorrectly?

I recently got a Kenmore Elite DW right before the holidays. It was the TOL model at that time. It is so quiet I can't tell other than the light on the panel that it is running. It too cleans better than any DW I have ever used. It also has a long cycling time, up to almost 3 hours on the longest cycle. The fine mesh filter seems to collect grease or oily residue that I clean off of it nearly every load. Other than that, which is annoying, it is a terrific machine. The upper rack has a metal bar that you adjust the height with which something broke on so that it sags until you slide the rack in all the way. Sears ordered a part for it which came today that should fix it. It has been good so far, let you know if anything new developes. I replaced a late model Friigidaire DW, which wasn't very good at cleaning. They seem to be fairly lightweight and cheaply made now.

Incorrectly placed item

The pan on the left of the bottom rack should be turned facing inward toward the water spray.

I told someone the other day this is one of the best cleaning DW we've owned except for our old Maytag reverse rack we had in our old house. We sold the Maytag with the house. This new Whirlpool is a solid machine weighing in 91 lbs.

Seems to me by following Whirlpool around the globe since early 90.

 

I have seen alternating wash systems first from AEG in 96 then since Iv'e learned that they coexisist with Electoluxe.

 

Following from there maybe a more downsized

version of the AEG alternating wash systems.

Was the frigidare line in the late 90 s.

 

Calling for brochures from the UK ,

the 6 th sense Whirlpool line was happening

late 90s or 2000 they sent to me..had alternating wash systems.

 

Bosch here in the USA where not in the beginning had aternating wash arms they started here in the US later around mid 2000 that I can recall.

 

Now you guys in europe correct me if I missed

Something on AEG or Whirlpool UK.

By the way..I heard the 6th sense systems first from the UK then here in the US not so long ago.

 

My friends Frigidare does 3 to 4 rinse fills and purges before the main wash.

With only it seems less then a half gallon of water per fill in the sump.

The only thing with Frigidare is the bottom wash arm is quiter then the upper..when the had a funnel system in the upper rack it was

even worse if your into Quite.

The direct feed now reduces that significantly.

 

Since Whirlpool shut the power clean systems 

here in the US ,it seems there using there euro design not as pretty..

like stainless steel wash arms in euro machines.

 

Do you hear the difference in your machine 

in alternating wash arms ?

alternating wash arm

I was home by myself when I test ran it empty. Everything else in the house was off including the fridge. The first thing I noticed was the alternating washing. Take today for instance the TV was on, clothes dryer was running which is just off from the kitchen. We started the DW and I went back twice to make sure it was running. Our old DW you could hear it running above everything else. It pretty being so quiet has taken a little getting use too. I don't when my dishes have been so clean!

I have a Kenmore dishwasher at my mom's house. It washes the bottom rack first then the top rack.

cheese enchilada test

I can't see how these new Whirlpool dishwashers can clean out a guacamole bowl, let alone an extremely dirty baking pan with cheese enchiladas in it! If so, I would be forced to use Cascade Complete citrus breeze to get it to work! I did a cheese enchilada test with a Whirlpool PowerClean dishwasher. I never, ever bothered to pre-wash the baking pan - just put it straight into the dishwasher! Here I am to tell you that it came out clean! The new resource saver dishwashers couldn't pass that test! I should've known that the PowerClean and point voyager dishwashers would've cleaned out that cheese enchilada pan like a breeze! Would the new Whirlpool resource saver dishwashers pase that test? No! I'm sick and tired of these dishwashers! You will be forced to use Cascade Complete if you want to do that cheese enchilada test I always thought new dishwashers were better than old ones. Not anymore!
