I'm still trying to get used to my new Whirlpool toploader after replacing my Maytag Performa, (you probably know my other post by now). Tonight the weirdest thing happened. I put a load in, and while watching TV I could hear the machine filling for the rinse. Seemed to me it was taking much to long to fill. I went to see, and opening the lid, the water is in fact injecting into the tub, but the level doesn't seem to be going up. I push the timer knob in and sure enough, I see that the level is going down and I can hear the water going down the drain hose.
I had already noticed when I first got the machine that if I were to lift the lid during drain, the pump/motor would stop, but the water would continue to slowly drain. I figured that this was normal. However, during the fill for the rinse it should not allow the tub to drain. I figured maybe something in the cycle didn't sequence properly, so I put it to spin, then put it back onto the rinse, and it did in fact start to fill and hold the water.
This is really strange to me. Has anyone had this happen?
