Here are a few photos of our new year festivities -- first, having our annual "Garlicky" dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, The Stinking Rose - where everything on the menu (even ice cream!) is made with garlic. Thanks to our Indiana friends the Franklins once again for this annual treat! That's our friend Jorge, our "adopted son," in the photo with us.

Then here we are toasting the new year at the stroke of midnight - Arlee with "the real stuff," I with sparkling cider of course! :)

And, finally, a nice profile shot of "Mount Baldy" hahaha!

Bev & I went to one our local ballrooms for the evening. For $50 per couple it included drinks, buffet lunch, and a 7pc. orchestra (polka), for the entire night. Doors opened at 8pm, and it went until 2am.

This is a photo John took of me on NYE to send to a friend. It's sort of a joke, because I don't smoke, and I don't drink hard liquor (just beer and wine. I'm a cheap date, lol).

The Pomerainian and the mannequin speak for themselves. They both love the new vacuum ;-)

Maggie dear, they did mix in big band numbers as well for those of us who like to do a little foxtrotting as well. If you've been born and raised with this kind of music as I've been, you too might find it to be "soul" music. This music holds many fond memories for me, birthday parties, weddings etc. But, I know not everyone loves it the way I do and that's ok too.

what we did on New Years Eve....

I went to a friends house, had drinks and played with his vintage pin ball machines for awhile. Was home just before midnight, as Timot wanted to call me a few minutes prior so we could ring in 2008 together.

We have something much better planned for the next one..... <:

Hi Maggie, no I just came from one.<:

Happy New Year to you too!

Good Grief.

The filth and racial slurs remind me of why I really just can't stand HipHop and Rap.

Who needs all that hatred and negativity?

Give me Brahms or Debussy over that violence and bleakness.

Music? Marginally.

Well Maggie, beauty is in the eye of the beholder they say.
I do enjoy most all types of music, and attend organ concerts at The Embassy Theatre from time to time. The Embassy Theatre is home to the original Page Pipe Organ from 1928. I took "my kids" to see a silent film there from 1926 a couple months ago titled The Black Pirate. They thought the film was really cool with the organ playing the score, and loved the historic theatre. We also attended the annual Festival of Christmas Trees in early December there.
It's not really all about hatred and negativity, just a different lifestyle from what most people are used to. <:
