My friend Chet moved back to Minnesota from Seattle last week and I'm taking care of his cat, Nick, until he gets a job and a place of his own. Nick's been a good roommate so far and he loves to watch both the TL and FL washers. I figure that trait earns him a spot at AW.ORG.

I don't like cats, but this is defintely one classy feeline. And he has a very expressive face. This one I may even like. Can't wait util you get photos of him with the front loader.

Very cute, especially his "paw curl" gesture...to me, those black & white cats have much different personalities than others! We've had 3 of them over here (2 of which have passed on, one is still around) and all of them were eccentric in one way or another.

allergic

I love cats but I am highly allergic to them..I agree with Appnut, this cat has something special about him...What a cutie!

I haven't had a pet in the house since 2000, when I had to have my cat The Swede put down. Nick is 7 years old and was rescued from a Seattle shelter about 2 years ago. I think part of the attraction is the detergent. I've been using a lot of Ariel and lime-scented Ace (hi, Venus!) lately and he gets his nose right down near the water, sometimes. He follows the clothes around counterclockwise with his head---it's hilarious to watch.

Are you sure

Nick hasn't aquired "a strong psychic bond" for you the way Hyacinth and Sherrridannnn have, and he has just found a sudden love for washers.

Wouldn't that be sweet?

Really nice pix, Eugene!

You too Jon

Love the first one where Tiger's watching so intently--just like us!!

Who knows........

Maybe we washer men are destined to come back as cats.

Nick...

...reminds me very much of my own sweet Tony, who is also black-and-white. Tony's face is black, with only his chin in white, but he has the same boxy muzzle that Nick has. He has green eyes like Nick, too.

He's not a washer guy, though- that has been firmly discouraged since he bounded into the dryer the first day he came to live with me. I had to tell him those machines are BAAAAAAAAAAD.

golittlesport is right- these are personable, friendly, calm cats. The only things Tony gets upset about are thunder (very reasonable- he has no way of knowing it's unlikely to cause him harm), and- oddly- sneezes. Sneeze and he's GONE, unless it's me, and even then he is alarmed.

Mickeyd-- I don't know about Sheridan....Wilde, definitely, LOL!

Sandy-- We're having a severe thunderstorm here and Nick freaks at every crack of thunder. Actually, I am too, a bit----the wind is suddenly blowing very hard. Time to check on the weather radar, kids!

Helen was holding Merlin while the Oasis and Frankenmore were going. He seemed very interested both machines so I'm sure he'll want to hop up on the dryer and watch the wash action. He can stand on the Oasis and look down into the window but I'll have to watch him if he gets close to the Frankenmore. I don't want him to fall in.
