I changed the tub bearing in our 2 belt top loading Maytag washing machine last year.

I sourced the bearing kit on Amazon so I don't think it was a factory item.

The bearing makes the common loud noise in the fast spin dry mode and has continued past what I thought might be a break-in process.

Could this be from substandard parts?

Thanks.

Which tub bearing did you change? The one that’s pressed into the outer tub or the ball bearing that’s at the bottom of the transmission assembly?

Usually, if it’s very loud and roaring, it’s the bottom ball bearing that sits in the top of the brake assembly, this is particularly likely to get noisey in a machine that leaked water down into that area at sometime.

It’s quite possible it’s the radio bearing, which is the sealed ball bearing in the brake package that I was mentioning, the bearing you changed almost never makes much noise unless it’s severely worn and you might hear a little bit of a knocking noise from it.
