Hey guys, can any of you recommend a fabric softener that doesn't smell ridiculously floral, girly, or overpowering? I really like a small, clean smell that's light. I've used the Fresh Air scented stuff by Method and really liked it, but can't find it anymore at the local stores (target has really cut back on their laundry products). I think my all-time favorites were the original Snuggle Cuddle-Up-Fresh and Morning Fresh, but I think they've both been discontinued...

Try:

The "Mountain Fresh" variety of Cuddle Soft fabric softener. This is a Sun product made by Huish, so you need to be looking in discount stores, but it's non-stinky by my standards and that's why I use it. I see no reason to go around smelling like a cross between rotting fruit and a low-rent-district hooker.

Purex Ultra-2 Mpuntain

Scent isn't too bad either. And it is a lot cheaper than the Downey version...

If there's a Big Lots or Dollar Tree in your area, try those for Cuddle Soft. Also, I'm not 100% sure on this but you MIGHT try Walmart. I think I saw it in one of their stores the other day (BTW, I'm talking about dryer sheets at all these locations).

Downy Free is good, and costs no more than the scented versions.

Another good one, albeit scented, is the Costco/Kirkland "Environmentally Friendly" fabric softener. It has a light lavender scent that isn't cloying or overwhelming. And most of it seems to disappear by the time the laundry is out of the dryer.
