Table setting for 18?

I have not seen a Norge badged DW either. But they do look familiar. Perhaps these were featured on TV shows?

I want to say Mrs. Kravitz of Bewithched had a kitchen that featured one of these....

28 gallons (estimated as 115+/- Litres) per minute to lower rack
15 gallons (estiomated as 60+/-Litres) per minute to upper rack.

Who knew?

I had always assumed the upper spay arm got nearly the same volume of water that the lower one did.

I think pots and pans is a cycle where detergent is introduced (as a kind of an extra prewash) but where it skips the rinses and drying cycle so afterwards you can load the rest of the dishes and start a full cycle. Or I got it completly wrong...:p

I've never heard of a Norge dishwasher, either. Interesting upper rack configuration. Water use per cycle: 13.2 gallons.

Nowadays, we have LG's and Asko's and Kenmore HE's that wash a full load clean with only 3 to 5 gallons. Of course, the modern cycle is over twice as long.

Thanks for posting the brochure, Greg. Just when you think you know about everything out there in the world of vintage appliances...

There were severral apartment complext built in the late 1960s and very early 1970s in Austin which had Norge branded kitchen appliances when I started school there in fall 1973.

Pots & Pans cycle

These are just D&M machines. This cycle was no different than what was found on the Gaffers & Sattler labeled units. Also, reminiscent of of the early days with the Waste King (like our 1959) Pots & Pans cycle or similar to the KA KDS14 & KDS15. The D&Ms were nothing more than the prewash and then the 2 rinses up to the beginning of the main wash cycle and stopped. Softened soil for easy removal of soil by hand. The G&S machiknes did the same thing. Magic Chef, Kenmore, and other label maets did the complete cycle along with possibly a 150 degree delayed main wash (soak) and 150 degree final rinse. On our Waste King, the cycle consisted of prewash, main wash, 1st rinse, and then srtopped. The Utility/Utensil cycle on KDS14 & KDS15 ran through the cycle and then did a no heat dry. I believe the impeller GEs did something similar too. Even on our Waste King installed April, 1968, it ran through the cycle, but gave no heated dry.

Also Kelvinator Dishwashers?

I vaguely remember staying with a neighboring farm family while my folks were going through a divorce. This family had a Kelvinator branded dishwasher, but I don't know who actually made it. For all we know, the WCI lines also had dishwashers from Westinghouse, Frigidaire, Kelvinator, Gibson, etc.--Laundry Shark

Austin apartments

These kitchens were harvest gold, avoc ado, and white themes. The dishwashers were 1-level wash models with regular and rinse & hold cycle buttons.

Very interesting Greg, Just wonder if they were more of a local thing so to speak as I sure have never seen them before. Very interesting the way the top rack loads.

Wow

Very cool, thank you for these tasty scans!

The top racks indeed are different than I've seen on D&Ms of the Kenmore ilk, especially the model UDJ-186Q. It looks like it has some sort of tiering not usually seen. Then again, it seems that D&M was famous for having fun with tweaking configurations in different sub-brands' applications--like my Magic Chef that had the oddball spray-arm configuration. All D&M, but different than the rest still and yet.

I'd bet these were great dishwashers if you had lots of hot water and remembered to pre-scrape!

Norge Dishwashers!

I like the style of a lot of these origional D&M designs. In the mid seventies they screwed up their designs by putting the upper arm on top and adding a tower to try to be like a maytag. Than for a long time only sears and modern maid and maybe one or two others kept the origional design. This I think was their biggest down fall. I knew someone that had a caloric like this tol norge model. It worked flawlessly for a machine of it's time (I think late 60's). But looking at the bol line norge above it seems like they don't have a upper wash arm. The tol model would be a real keeper if found.
Greg Thanks for scanning.

Awesome Scans Greg!

Okay!
I posted this a few years ago with questions, but no one answered.
I had a friend growing up, and they had a Norge Dishwasher. After I joined the club, I realized that this was a Norge badged Preway dishwasher. This dishwasher had the side wash arms, and the gas burner on the bottom. I used to load this all the time for them because I just loved the sounds it made. They had the dishwasher for almost 20 years, and only replaced it because of a revamp of their kitchen. I wish I could find out more info on the dishwasher they had. I can see it in my mind, and the console was similar to the consoles posted in these brochures.
Thanks for the scans Greg!

Okay....
Now that I look again of the scans here....I had a sight recall.
Although it was fake wood grain, the name NORGE was in huge letters centered.
On the left was a toggle switch for something, but I can't remember what it controlled. On the left was the huge dial, similar to these.
